Arsenal CAN and MUST make most of BIG injury boost

Although Arsenal are not exactly out of the woods when it comes to our injury situation, by any means, it does look as though the worst could be over. And we really need it to be, because what was supposed to be a great season for the Gunners, following on from our Premier League title charge last season and the end of a nine year wait for a trophy, has turned into yet another damp squib, so far at least.

But we should remember that the season is still only at the halfway point. While the EPL title look out of reach, Arsenal still need to finish in the top four and there are two very good cup competitions to think about, with a really good draw in the Champions League offering a great chance of an extended run in Europe.

So Arsene Wenger and the players must really grab the rest of the season by the scruff of the neck and shake every goal, point and clean sheet out of it. And the easing of the injury crisis gives us a really good chance to do that. Just as Arsenal fans get frustrated and worry when we see our best players picking up knocks, the same must be true of the players and manager.

But the opposite should also be true and just as I saw the pictures of our latest training session on the Arsenal.com website as a massive boost, with the likes of Ozil, Ramsey, Walcott, Giroud and Koscielny all fit and healthy, the whole squad must grab the positives and use it as a mental boost.

So be positive Arsenal, paste the Potters and move on to Man City with the right mind state. Could Arsenal be set for a super second half of the season?

  1. If we win our next 18 EPL games
we will fiinish with 87 poiints.
Might just be enough to win the EPL.
    COYG. We’re gonna do it.

  2. It’s good to have players coming from injury. Its now up to the manager to employ the right tactics in order to win matches. Its also good to rotate rather than employing funny formations in order to accommodate everyone.

  3. There is something fishy about our players always coming back from injury once the transfer window is open. We have had a torrid first half of the season with injuries to almost all first team players, and then all of a sudden in January, everyone is fit an coming back from injury. I think it is a blinder.
I wont be surprised when the transfer window shuts and one by one the player start crawling back to the treatment room only to be back again in June as “new signings ” as wenger would put it.

  4. Today we play Stoke, a hard game that usually causes an injury or 2.
Stoke made Mertesaker look like a child last time and will be at him like rabid dogs again.
Kos will have to mop up his mistakes and probably enflame his injury.
Why did we not sign defenders already?
They are there to buy, no excuse, this is ridiculous.
Kos and 1 other defender get injured we are fryer tucked!
