Arsenal enquire about CL finalist with replacement lined-up

Arsenal have enquired about the possibility of signing Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid, and his club have lined up Antonio Candreva to replace him.

The 22 year-old is the latest in a long line of Belgian youngsters to emerge from the shadows in recent years, with Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku already becoming household names.

Carrasco could now be set to join the trio in the Premier League, with Arsenal believed to have already made contact with his current club.

The Gunners are claimed to have enquired about the attacking playmaker’s availability, and will be boosted by reports that Atletico are ready to sign Candreva in his place.

The Lazio forward is believed to be unsettled in Serie A, and could be open to a move to the Champions League runners-up.

Carrasco joined the Atleti last summer from Monaco in a £15 Million deal, and quickly became a hit in the Spanish capital. Yannick scored the equaliser in the weekend’s Champions League final in Milan, but it was not enough to help his side lift the trophy. That goal could now be his last in La Liga.

International counter-part Lukaku is also expected to move clubs this summer, but his destination remains unclear, and is also linked with a move to North-London.

The striker is believed to be keen on playing Champions League football, and will be well accustomed to living in London, having played for Chelsea previously.

Any deals for the pair should be lined up quickly, as a truly successful run in the European Championship could not only raise their price-tags, but turn the heads of Real Madrid or Barcelona also.

Should we pull out all the stops for the Belgian duo?

  1. Lineup for next season

    Morata
    Welbeck Toral Sanchez
    Xhaka Cazorla
    Monreal Koscielny Benatia Bellerin
    Cech

with Ozil probably finding Bayern too hard to resist 🙂

    1. That is a really bad team. Not much physical presence there. We will get bullied in many games.

        1. No it wont.

We get bullied by Stoke,West Ham, West Brom, Sunderland and Chelsea. That is a quarter of the league there. SO Xhaka is a good signing, we can pair him up with Coquelin or Eleneny in those games and allow the AMF to play a free role. I think we have to get someone better than Morata. He too will find it difficult against those teams.

  2. I think Arsenal chiefs pay newspapers to make stories through out the summer to keep us fans interested all the way until midnight deadline day. Every summer Arsenal are linked with more players than any other club in Europe.

      1. Agents and columnists are the biggest driving force behind gossip. Agents because they are greedy little buggers and columnists because they get paid to sell stories. I’m fairly sure am about dead on on this one.

  3. Official:Arsenal is the most linked club to buy a player every transfer window.
And why is that?…because the media knows we are to interested in hearing such.

    1. its more like they link us to everybody they can cos they know the truth, we’re not linked to anybody cos wenger aint buying lol

  4. Personally have not seen much of him but from Saturday’s showing he seems to be a good dribbler and a direct player. Whether he is want we need or whether he would be an upgrade is another thing.

My God we seen to be linked with every player on the planet. Even clubs like Bayern, Real Madrid and Barca have less rumors than Arsenal.

It would be good for the club to complete or at least put in measures to secure players before the Euro’s because most clubs will be busy and the best talents snapped up.

I predict this to be the busiest transfer window ever.

  5. Morata just scored a brace against the mighty South Korea, sign him up!! £50 million looking like a bargain!! Haha

I’m obviously joking, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see yet ANOTHER article on this guy now.

  6. We should have signed him last season if we want him. Wenger or Arsenal don’t purchase players because of one season, we would’ve been keeping tabs since a young age. I read the stories of this player but none of them went into detail about his stats or his strong and weak points. I don’t remember him standing out too much. But if there is truth to rumours, I find it a good sign we are checking out wingers because that would mean we are not totally convinced by our current options. I reckon we’re gonna spend about 100 – 120 mil this window, just a harmless guess so nobody get their boxers in a twine.

  7. he has played well in the champs leauge but not as well in laliga not much of an upgrade on ox or campbell to be honest

  8. I remember him, he scored the 3rd goal in that 3-1 home defeat against Monaco. I like the guy but which player are we gonna get linked with next, Nolito??
