Arsenal fans absolutely fuming at Unai Emery for collapse at Watford

To say that Arsenal fans are unhappy with Unai Emery is an understatement of mega proportions, they are simply furious with him and rightfully so.

His team selection, team tactics, the way he set the players up, the substitutions etc. Emery has got them all wrong and not just in this game but in so many games previously and a large section of the fan base have simply had enough.

Here is just a taste of what some of the Arsenal faithful are saying on social media.

And on it goes and unless Emery makes gets some positive results soon it is only going to get worse.

Obviously a lot of these tweets are kneejerk reactions but the Spaniard does have a lot of questions to answer and I am not sure he actually has the answers that will appease the fans, not with the mood they are in.

It is still early in the season and there is time to get it right but if Emery is not careful he will end up losing the fans in the same way that Wenger did and once that happens there is no coming back.

    Is it even possible to make the same mistakes over and over and over and over..

    Must be the only club that can spend so much money and yet not improve a defence?!

    But I will say this, when it comes to generosity, Arsenal have it in abundance!!!!

    City lost to Norwich and they are reigning champions

    It’s silly to demand his firing after an away draw so early in the season.
    Let’s see how and if Emery resolves the problem.

    Yes it’s a disappointing result but let’s not get carried away. Let’s see if he can fix the team

    1. We know it’s not the end of the world and we know city lost to Norwich . But it’s about the glaring mistakes that he simply failed to rectify. Was UE sleeping? Might as well appoint Rob holding as head coach.

    2. Pls, no point comparing us with man city. This team is a bloody joke. For ur info arsenal have conceded 96 shots on goal so far this season..far more than any other side in the five major European leagues. Most of the players are not good enough whilst UE is a clown. Period.

      it’s not the result…well it is But how we arrive at the results. It’s Wenger v2, fans can see the regular poor performers who inexplicably gets auto selection and one of these clowns is even made captain…who makes these decisions? You do not have a cohesive defence or midfield and do mot have a creative midfielde YET you persist in playing out from the back? UE style is not suited to these players, Plays them out of position, they are talented but his tactics have hamstrung them. Every time after a lead, we sit back then wonder why we get the wrong resukt? His subs try was schoolyardish. Take out your 3 creative midfielders when we needed to hold the ball? WTF???
      For the Guendozi haters, you guys really don’t understand talent. To improve you need to try new things and take risks and I like the way he is doing so. He is the only Ayer that had the vision, if UE doesn’t demotivate him, he will be world clazz

      1. Finally, one year later people are seeing that playing from the back is dangerous… enough to need changing tactics. We miss Czech, who would have changed things by sending some long and medium rage balls to the wings and middle.

We can’t even out play bottom table team and top table teams so what’s the difference between Arsenal and middle table teams and we are happy with Emery our coach,the worst of it I don’t even understand stand the style of football we are playing…….but am not surprise because before he came to Arsenal a friend from PSG told all these.but its time to say good bye ?.

    3. We were lucky to get a 2-2 draw, it should have been 5-2 to Watford. We were that bad in the second half. So no excuses, we were simply outplayed and outfought by a better team.I’m still not convinced by UE but he should be given until the end of the season. But knowing how the club have operated in the past they will probably extend his contract irrespective of what happens.

Emery killed the match immediately he removed Ceballos instead of ozil and to cap it all guendouzi for that clown Nelson, only God knows what Niles do in training or is our academy that bad that we can’t get another Rb, all our English youngsters are so overated, Nelson should be playing in division one, I feel so sad for aubamayang he gave his all today and, only God knows what emery was thinking for taking out Ceballos am so sad today.

    2. So Neelson was supposed to be an upgrade on Iwobi? We need to do a research on why English youngsters never seem to grow up at arsenal, perhaps they love the tag young guns so much.       Watford had 30 attempts on goal to our 7.

      That’s a bad result, a dismal performance, and at the heart of it is that this team is poorly coached, badly organised and with no footballing identity. “I’d argue that today, the first official nail in Emerys coffin has been hammered in. I don’t know how many nails are needed for said coffin but today felt pivotal. Very disappointing. Very boring too, which is almost more disappointing considering all the excitement he promised”.

    3. Allegri was always my first pick. One thing for certain, we would have a proper defence by now. Quality coach look what he did for Juve!!!

Arsenal were shocking got to be the worse team I have seen you can’t possibly be taught to defend like that its been a big issue for last 5 years plus and still not been addressed had we played a top team they would have scored 6 or 7 it was that bad we are a million miles away from challenging for tittle let alone top 4 carries on like this and Dick Emery has to go alone with quite a few others!!

  13. I have held out hope that Emery would be able to add some tactical flexibility to the squad, something I feel we have been missing for years, but this…… Fekk knows what this is but it isn’t it.
    I’m not saying it’s time to sack him just yet but if he doesn’t start showing us he actually has a game plan by January I think Raul and Edu may well get shot of him and give Freddie the reins for rest of the season.
    We have a squad packed with so much potential, that could be delivering the beautiful attacking football we all crave….. To see it being wasted week in week out is almost criminal ?

U can’t win 3 fa cups and 3 community shields in 4 years beating the likes of city,Liverpool, man u, Chelsea,Tottenham etc enroute to winning those trophies without being technically sound, u can’t continually qualify for champions league for a consecutive 20 years with low budgets without being technically sound, its some of u toxic fans who need a realty check!!!!

    While substitution sometimes win or lose us the game, it was odd seeing Ceballos come off before Guendouzi(yellow card) and Ozil, who seemed fresher than both, even Ceballos himself seemed puzzled by the decision

  19. Even when all our injured players do return, it’s pointless keeping this manager, he’ll always find a way to stifle his team’s performances with his tactics and team selection…. The sooner we part with him the better…. I preferred him to Arteta, yes… but that was because he is supposed to be the more experienced of the two, and now I’m thinking we might have been better off with Arteta. Emery has shown us he’s a mid-table team coach at best, and that isn’t what this club deserves at all…. we should have tried to sign Conte, and get this clown kicked out.

    1. I concur, there appears no urgency or intensity. The Arsenal players are overpaid prima donnas, who need a stern discipline to “toughen the f**k up”. Mistake ridden players like Luis and Socrates need to be dropped from the first team.

Arsenal has the worst academy players,compare to others Gomez, Arnold, Liverpool,for some years spur has Kane,dier,rose,and many more…arsenal has the worst midfiders they can’t control games by holding on to possession to lessen the pressure they are facing and no protection from the midfielders to help the defence.. Arsenal has the worst coach he should be sack or I don’t see arsenal going anywhere with Emery…. Socratis is a disgrace…if they had won 10point with man city we can’t take advantage from The fall of others…arsenal players are not good enough that’s the bitter truth….no upgrade on iwobi yet although is not good enough but is better

It is obvious that d coaching crew don’t have d competence for this job.So many things here don’t look promising:the team don’t have a style,can’t keep possession of d ball or even connect passes, very slow movement to defend or attack; they don’t close down or mark with intent to force opposition into error or loose d ball;the players are really indisciplined both to defend or attack;they only play to d gallery… seem to want to out play each other(childish) they don’t priorities team victory .They can’t stay focused to finish or see off a game completely.When will arsenal and d players play team game for team victory instead of competing against each other? UE doesn’t seem to solve any problem.. .maybe worse than Wenger!

Arsenal have been fairly poor in all of their games this Season and their last eight of last season.This doesn’t bode well for Emery’s stewardship.The defending is laughable and the transition through midfield difficult to watch most of the time.To play a side of Watford’s quality and concede over 20 shots on goal is utterly ridiculous.
    The team dont look like they understand how the Manager wants them to play…which isnt surprising as he’s impossible to understand during the course of every single press conference.Clearly Arsenals version of David Moyes…a man found to be thoroughly out of his depth.

  24. Seems Emery had innate sympathy for Flores since the guy is Spanish and knowing full well Watford can’t get a point against bitter Man City. It was obvious to the blind man that Arsenal was going to collapse the moment he yanked off Ceballos . Why allow the club to sell Iwobi? Didn’t he factor injury all season? Imagine if Aubameyang is injured.Only Emery know the answer. Imagine if Wenger has 200m pounds to spend in 2 seasons. Gutted is an understatement.

  25. My comment on this game got lost in the admin somewhere, maybe because I said I had little faith in the Gunners and suggested they would struggle against Watford. I did however think they would come away with the points with a 1-2 win. I got that wrong. IMO Emery is not for Arsenal, nor are the back four.

  26. sad to say emery is clueless (and he has the advantage of seeing the players everyday.) Why:-
    *Not always play your strongest team
    *Take your best player Cellabos off (he was bemused when replaced which aint good if we want to get him to stay)
    *Why start Ozil in a game like Watford away
    *Why play Xhaka ever ( tell me his one asset)
    *make subs that change nothing

  30. guys I already said it last year when he messed up 4th position. This coach is clueless. He is not fit for this role. Wenger was really bad but to be honest for me he is way better than this clown. At least you know his philosophy. My advise is better to give chance for Allegri or Mourinho. The reason why I do still mad on Wenger is why he did left early so that we could have got Klopp! I am really so tired of messing up my weekend with this team. with that depressing feeling, I am easily fighting with family members. Arsenal , are you planning to get me divorced?lol….seriously I will get mad easily after the Arsenal pathetic performance….

  31. The manager must sort the problems out or be sacked. It’s that simple. The board did its part in the market. No defender can improve arsenal if every time the opposition attacks the defenders are outnumbered. It was the same story against spurs. The team was so vulnerable that every attack threatened to result in a goal. It’s not just today. The last six premier league games of last season were also catastrophic. To that add the eufa final. Conclusion-Emery has reached his limit.

    1. Playing from the back is not good when the back line cannot handle the ball. It is better to play old fashioned defense at the back and let the attack led by Ozil do their thing.

      Having a great attack across the front means the long pass, even the deep ball, can lead fast attacks from any side. This is a side better than Wenger’s attack, but cannot get the ball as it is stuck in back.

      We can bring Wenger back too… LOL.

      One other issue that Emery has: he does not work well with superstars.

Think we talked about his away form and it is really wanting Watford bossing us! Can’t believe we have come these low.I really now want Emery out.what happened to the pressing game he started with? Yes you said then we let him buy his players….aubameyang &laca are the only consistent players .. oooh a certain Wenger brought them to the club so tell me has Emery really improved ARSENAL!!?
