Arsenal fans confused as Ramsey beats Ozil to award

I am not one of the many Arsenal fans who thinks that Aaron Ramsey is not as good as Arsene Wenger seems to think he is (shown once again this week when he started an out of form Ramsey out wide against Man United) and that apart from that one fantastic season in 2013-14 when he scored 16 goals the Welshman needs to do more on a consistent basis for the Gunners.

Having said that I am also not a blind believer in Rambo’s greatness although I do think he is a very good box-to-box midfielder when in form, so I was surprised to say the least to see a Metro report showing that it was the Wales international and not our German international play maker Mesut Ozil who was included in the shortlist for the UEFA team of the year.

Despite the fact that Ozil scored eight goals for Arsenal provided 19 Premier League assists last season, which was just one off the EPL record, while Ramsey chipped in with six goals and five assists in all competitions, UEFA seem to have place a huge amount of importance on their own Euro 2016 tournament.

Even going on the fact that Ramsey shone for Wales and was named in the team of the tournament though, Ozil was not exactly anonymous; assisting, scoring and even getting a Man of the Match award, so can you explain to me how Ramsey is considered to have been better than Ozil last season? Was his mum on the panel or something?

Bob.

  2. I think the awards has Wenger’s hands somewhere, coz people in their right minds can’t even place Ramsey over many average box to box midfielders.. he is super average
