Arsenal first, Sporting Lisbon second…… and? Full Europa League schedule

All Arsenal fans could only expect an easy Europa Group fixture list with the possible teams we could have been paired with, and Sporting Club de Portugal was probably one of the most difficult.

But the remaining two could hardly have been any easier with Qarabag from Azerbaijan and Vorskla from the Ukraine, although the travelling may be a bit harder than expected. I am guessing that Emery will play our reserves in the away games and depending on results, maybe put in a few wild cards at home or against Sporting Club..

But to be honest, with this schedule I cannot see us risking many big players, can you?

Full schedule:

20th Septemeber – Arsenal v Vorskla

4th October – Qarabag v Arsenal

25th October – Sporting CP v Arsenal

8th November – Arsenal v Sporting CP

29th November – Vorskla v Arsenal

13th December – Arsenal v Qarabag

Can we safely assume our reserves will carry us through to the knockout stages?

    1. We have got Sandbag instead

Regarding our reserves, I am fully confident that they can take care the sandbag and the other two stooges

      1. OT….Nelson’s contract is old news. You heard it here first.Contract was signed long ago.The deal was worth £45,000 a week and I reported this to you first.
Just to remind you all,Xhaka’s new contract meant £10,000 a week was added to his initial salary.
        Now just waiting on Ramsey.

        1. Are you sure? An 18 year old kid on £45k a week?I know the club are keen to tie him down but not for that amount

  1. If Arsenal’s historical events serve me well, I would suggest we don’t pin our hopes on the reserves (or our first team for that matter) to get us through to the knock out stages. I mean, can you imaging getting knocked out of the EC to a group with those teams in it?

The fact is, we need to playing out strongest possible squad whilst resting the most obvious players. Those who are playing more regularly than any one else!

The current squad need to gel and adapt to Emery’s new system and formation. I think too much chopping and changing will only have negative consequences to the league form.

  2. Lol…you call being ruthless at a top team like arsenal fickle…oh…you need to go support west ham or Everton..expectations aren’t as high there…
PS:Aubameyang is quality no doubt, he will definitely come good sooner or later but he isn’t just getting it currently and slacking shouldn’t be tolerated at arsenal regardless of the player…let that sink fam…and cut that “coming back at me” BS…I never said Aubameyang was crap.

This is for ks gunner..ROM the Leno/cech page.

  4. Same situation as last season
We MUST take this competition seriously because it’s probably our best chance into Champions League
Thankfully Emery has won it three times so his experience is useful

We shouldn’t take the group stage lightly and think that qualification is guaranteed. Nothing is guaranteed and it would also be humiliating to go out so early.
