Arsenal and Everton in race to sign exciting Bundesliga hit-man

It is being reported in Germany that we are in the race to sign Fortuna Düsseldorf striker Benito Raman.

According to Sports Witness citing SportBild, we are one of two Premier League clubs interested in the forward, along with Everton.

Raman is not the most prolific striker in the Bundesliga having knocked in just ten goals this season, however, he is hardly playing for one of the best German sides and his total represents over 25% of his team’s total goals.

The young Belgium is said to be available for a bargain price of just £13 Million, a fee that even we can afford.

You would think that we would be favourites to sign Raman, however, it seems that Everton currently has the upper hand, why? I do not know, but that is what is being reported.

Raman started his senior career with Gent in 2011 before joining Standard Liege five years later, however, he was loaned to Düsseldorf after just one year and following a very successful spell joined them on a permanent basis in 2018, he has not broken through to the Belgium national team yet but has represented the youth teams from the U15’s right through to the U21’s.

The 24-year-old would certainly play a role for us, maybe not as a first team regular but definitely as a squad member, especially as we will be playing four competitions next season when team rotation will play a very critical role in our season.

Do we need another cheap striker to replace Danny Welbeck?

  1. Why would Arsenal pay 13 M for a backup attacker, while they can just give the chance to Nelson/ Nketiah, extend Welbeck’s contract or pay a little bit more for Chukwueze

    1. You’re first again I see gotanidea 😛
I agree with what you say, give Nketiah a chance in the striker role, he has impressed at every level so far and I think he will impress with the men once he has settled into the first team.

      1. I’ve been lucky in two posts in a row and I hope the luck can be transferred to Arsenal in their away matches 😀

  2. It has been so baffling how we get linked to every single player in and out the market, Well I’m waiting patiently to see or read that we strongly in contention to sign up Messi or Sancho or even Cr7..
These transfer speculations won’t just go away can someone tell me how many players we duely need to sign. Huh!!!!

  3. Already aged 24 his credentials hardly reek of being a saviour for us. IMO, just another false rumour. Oh we may well have watched him BUT we watch all sorts of players, but hardly any ever come who are true top class. I disregard this article therefore; this type of article is becoming common, tedious and boringly untrue on here.

  4. Just use Nketiah more. Is a third striker really a priority for Emery? I don’t think so. Not when we have no top wingers, need to replace Ramsey, and have a poor defense (despite our recent record I fully expect us to go back to being poor if we keep the same defenders next season). Arsenal need to utilize their youth talent more anyways. Is it really necessary to go abroad to find a 3rd striker behind Auba and Lacazette??

  5. OT :
Last night game was Unai Emery 50th game in charge of the Arsenal . see how he ranks amongst our previous managers.
Most wins in their first 50 games with Arsenal…
    32 – Unai Emery
    28 – George Allison
    27 – George Graham
    27 – Herbert Chapman
    25 – Jack Crayston
    24- Tom Whittaker
    24 – George Swindin
    23 – Arsène Wenger
    23 – Don Howe

    El Maestro.
I can’t believe some fans still think we could get a better manager than him . To be honest , Guardiola, a Mourinho (God forbid) wouldn’t have done better than this considering the dross defence left by wenger, and also taking note of how Manchester United as faired since Alex Fergus on left . Emery deserves our respect. He’s done an amazing job

    1. I applaud your rightful lauding of a manager who has done far more than any fan had the right to expect with the dross left behind and little to spend last summer.

  6. If this most recent transfer “Rumor? has any
legs to it then both Danny boy and Nkietah
(loan) will be off to greener futboling pastures
in the summer. Personally I think it’s a pile of
rubbish and would rather have both Englishmen
as the third striker than this particular player
    (no disrespect to him)
With Arsenal being linked to evert player under
the moon and a transfer budget vacillating on
a daily basis I think Emery and Co. will be
shrewd in this window and upgrade the critical areas we have all reached a consensus on:
    winger, CB and Ramsey replacement.

My 2 cents on what I would love to see happen
    this summer.

    OUT:
    Mustafi—£25M
    El Neny—£10M
    Miki—-£15M
    Jenko—£5M
    Ospina—£4M
    Martinez—£3M
    Lichsteiner—free
    Ramsey—free
    Cech—retired

Over £60M in player sales and over £700K in
wages added to the summer transfer kitty.

Loan out Saka, Nkietah, Ameachi, ESR,
( stay with RBL),Nelson(stay with Hoff or
remain in BL) Sheaf, Bielick and Willock to
first division teams in Europe or Championship sides where they’ll feature regularly.

Based on a £125M transfer budget

    IN:
    Jonathan Tah/Nathen Ake—£40M (£110K)
    K Tierney—£25M (£70K)
    C Nkunku—£25M (£70K)
Bennacer—£5M (buy back from Empoli) (£45K)
    Nick Pope—£10M (£50K)
Malcolm—£15M (2 year loan with buy option)
    (£Barca current wages)

£120M spent on transfer fees and around
    £400K in weekly wages.

Offer DW a one year contract based on his
current wages and incentives( number of
    games played)

Activate the last year on Nachos contract
    (if they havent already)

    Recall CC from Fulham

    Strikers….Laca/Auba/DW or Nkietah
    Wings—Iwobi/Saed/Nkunku/Malcolm
    Cam—Ozil/Nkunku/Bennacer
    CM—Xhaka/Guendouzi/Bennacer
    DM—Torreria/CC
    LB—Nacho/Tierney/Saed*
    CB—Boss/Socratis/Tah/Mavro/Holding
    RB—AMN/Hector
    K—-Leno/Pope

*if Emery is able to find a buyer for Ozil(PSG?) Arsenal could conceivably pursue a Lozano/ Pepe/Bailey/D.Costa/Neres type instead of
the loan deal for Malcolm or a less expensive
    alternative(Fraser)

Go ahead and fire away gents. ?

    1. Ace even we did sell those players for the money you suggest what makes you think Stan would use it to bring in new players he has not splashed too much money on players to date and i dont think that will change but i could be wrong but i dont think so.
