Arsenal joins Manchester United in the race to sign top Swedish youngster

The name Dejan Kulusevski keeps on being linked with Arsenal

Arsenal is expected to be involved in the winter transfer window as it seeks to strengthen its squad.

The Sun is claiming that they will be looking to splash some cash next month and one of the players they are targeting is Atalanta’s Dejan Kulusevski.

The 19-year-old has been on loan at Parma this season and he has been in fine form which has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s top sides.

He struggled to establish himself at Atalanta having joined the club in 2016 and he could have left them last summer for less than £10 million.

He is, however, valued at over £40 million at the moment, but it is thought that Arsenal could get that price lowered if they show strong interest, according to the same report.

Arsenal has had to bring in Dani Ceballos on loan to help them in their midfield this season, but the young Swede has been on a better run of form and to some, would be an upgrade.

There is, however, one fly in the ointment. Sun Sport also claims that Kulusevski is currently happy at Parma and the player isn’t considering a mid-season switch next month.

It has to be said that the Kulusevski rumours are persistent. He seems to be one of those names that are consistently mentioned as an Arsenal target and when that happens there is occasionally something to it.

It will be interesting to see if we continue to read about this particular rumour in the weeks ahead.

  1. Sick of European clubs ripping us off.
Offer them 5 mill and 2 mill add on’s over 3 years.
What about a straight swap no money deal for Reiss Nelson?
Give them Luiz for Kulusevski in June.
Why buy over rated over priced Euro “potential” when we already have our own
free “potential” ESR, Willock, Alayinka, Saka, Nketiah John-Jules Balogun + Burton –
    Guendouzie 6m Martinelli 7m
    Take it or pea off.
    40m myarzze.

    1. Exactly

Martinelli doesnt cost us 200m and yet hes a great talent and performing well…

Fans just want big name and big tag signings every transfer window

      1. Exactly. 16!

Also, the guy’s got 4 goals and 6 assists in 16 matches in Serie A. As a 19-year-old midfielder.

And people here compare him to our young midfielders, none of which has in the last 10 years (!) shown the potential to be that fantastic by the age of 19. Again, I’m talking about midfielders.

Still, 40 M is way too steep. If he continues the whole season in this way, he could be worth a punt at 20 – 25 M. BTW, this guy is strong and tall, so no worries he’d be outmuscled like Torreira.

  2. Liverpool are looking to buy Minamino, a proper playmaker who shines in the CL and we’re looking for unknowns who struggled in a small club in Italy lol

  3. The small club is 7th in Serie A. He’s the teams’s best player at 19. Hardly struggling.

Loads of top EPL players have been bought from clubs of similar stature/size, or have you not been paying attention?

Son came from Leverkusen, Firmino from Hoffenheim, Doucoure from Rennes, Van Dyke from Southampton, Soyuncu from Freiburg etc etc etc

The whole list would have dozens and dozens examples…
