Arsenal legend claims Mkhitaryan ‘suited to the Arsenal way’

Thierry Henry has praised Arsenal’s signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan this month, claiming he is suited to the style of football played in North London.

The Gunners agreed a deal with Manchester United to allow contract rebel Alexis Sanchez to move in the opposite direction as the Armenian all-time international goalscorer, and both teams are upbeat about their new arrivals.

Many are of the opinion that the Red Devils got the better of the deal, despite having to make the Chilean the highest earner in Premier League history, but there are many who are optimistic about the arrival of Henrikh in North London also.

Thierry Henry has now given his two cents on the subject, praising the arrival of the 29 year-old who he claims is suited to Arsenal.

Henry said: “As far as the Sanchez/Mkhitaryan swap is concerned, I was a big fan of Mkhitaryan when he was at Dortmund, has  but things didn’t go his way at Manchester United.

“You have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

“He looks like an Arsenal player with the way he likes to play and the way Arsenal like to play.

“Time will tell us who was right with the swap.

“He’s still a great player.”

Will our signing improve our team this season? Does the midfielder suit our side much better than he did United’s? Will he go some way to replace the goalscoring of Alexis Sanchez?

  1. I very confident and positive about Mkhitaryan. I believe he will be an improvement over Ox, Theo, Iwobi and Danny. He has excellent dribbling and passing skills. He works hard and was excellent in Germany. He will be good cover for Ozil and hopefully will prove that he is capable of starting with Ozil and Lacazette
I am hoping he will improve with us as he hasn’t been that great with United

Hopefully, Wenger will use him correctly and not play him at LB or some silly position like that. Wenger has done that a few seasons innit

    1. Your right INNIT – Mikki MUST be played in the position where we can benefit from his undoubted talent.Mikki and Ozil should give us the base to get the best from Laca and Auba(get this deal done NOW)and Jack is proving he is getting to the level we all knew and hoped he could reach. These COULD be exciting times but Square Plugs in Round Holes DO NOT WORK.

    2. He looks amazing on YouTube with his dribbling skills and close ball control, but so did Lacazette. I believe he can show those amazing skills in Arsenal matches, as long as he can click well with the other attackers.

I remember when Ozil came, we hoped he would provide a lot of perfect through balls to Walcott, Sanchez and Lacazette, but it very rarely happened. I hope Mkhitaryan is a different case, because he is more mobile and looks more skillful than Arsenal’s current midfielders.

      1. Ozil rarely passed to Walcott because he has a football brain and realised that passing to Wally when he was ALWAYS OFFSIDE wasn’t exactly the best thing to do.Cant believe you could dig out Ozil for Wally’s inadequatsies

  2. I don’t know why am believing that we got the better of the deal. This Mkhi of a man was one player I hated in the days of Arsenal vs Dortmund. He was a tormentor.
Of what use would it have been keeping a very very good player that wasn’t playing for you because he wanted out rather than getting a very good player that will put in a shift.
    Welcome Mkhi.

  3. ………………………..Ospina……..

    Bellerin. Mustafi. Koscielny Kolsanic

    Wiltshire. Elneny

    Aubameyang. Ozil Mkhitaryan
