Arsenal must reject all bids for this promising midfielder

The versatile Arsenal youngster Isaac Hayden has had an excellent training loan at Hull City last season, and helped the Tigers to win promotion back up to the Premier League. Hayden may have only played 17 times for Steve Bruce’s side, but for a defensive midfielder his stats make impressive reading.

He scored one goal and created 13 chances and had a pass accuracy of 88% and a shot accuracy of 40%. He also won eight headers and made 13 dribbles and 13 tackles. There is little surprise that Hull City are keen on him returning to the KC Stadium next season, and now it is being reported that our fellow Londoners Queens Park Rangers want him for their attempt on promotion next season too.

Hayden has just one year on his contract remaining and it remains to be seen if Arsene Wenger has any plans for the 21 year-old, but considering his recent improvement it would make no sense to sell him on now cheaply when he could become a top Gooner in the future.

Admittedly he may struggle to get game time right now at the Emirates unless he reverts back to central defender, but it would make sense to me for Wenger to give him an improved contract and let him go out on loan for one more season to see if he progesses even further. Another year at Hull would do him no harm especially as they are now in the Premiership, but personally I think a sale would be a false economy right now.

What do you think?

  1. If he’s struggling to get into a Championship team, I wouldn’t hold out too much hope of him becoming a top gunner. Considering our midfield is packed already, and given the youthful ages of the likes of our defensive players (Elneny, Coquelin, and Xhaka), I doubt he’ll get any game time in the near future anyway. Another loan or a transfer I’m thinking.

OT – All gone a bit quiet on the transfer front lately. I hope Arsenal are just waiting for the Euros to end to announce some deals.

    1. Why would Arsenal wait? .. they didn’t wait to announce Xhaka!
The truth is, there is no deals in place, just plenty of Bull?! Instead. ?? Prepare for the usal disappointments.

  2. Yes, It makes sense to renew his contract and loan him back out to Hull City again.

I see that Juventus are now on Sanchez’s case. ?
and that Wenger is busy sitting on his hands again, this just goes to show that Xhaka was our main target, during this transfer window.

We can now expect the same old senario’s when the transfer window officially opens. ? The Usal under bidding and getting out – priced by our rivals, aswell as the late late panic buying shenanigans, on Wenger’s behalf. ?

Just hope that we don’t lose any of our star players in the process.

  3. I’d like to see Hayden drop back to CB where he played for England age groups. I remember his positional sense was impressive. But yes another loan makes sense.

  4. Was expecting him to be backup to Coquelin and Elneny in DM but since we’ve gotten Xhaka we ll have to loan Hayden again, but now preferably an EPL side, probably continue with Hull.

  5. Xhaka imo should be playing in the Central midfield role. Playing alongside Coq or Elneny. Cazorla should rotate with both Xhaka and Ozil. we need more rotation next season so as to prevent injuries. fewer injuries, good rotation is key. we just need a top striker and we are good to go. This Vardy issue. We can make 50m pound bid for Lewandosky. Bayern did not pay a dime to Dortmund for his services. They got him on a free. So if the guy wants to leave, he can. We just should try our luck. He fancies the EPL.

  6. I hope he gets a new contract and loaned to a EPL team to gain more experience, he may not make it at Arsenal but we could sell him for more money if he was on a longer contract and has EPL experience behind him.

  7. We get ain’t going to buy another centre back regardless he’s too stubborn n arrogant, chambers looks to be going out OK loan so why not keep the lad Haydon he’s 6’2 has potential let him be the 4th choice centre back play him in the useless carling cup n even in the f.a cup to start off.

A mourniho; pep etc would get the best defensively out of a player like Hayden would wen get I doubt it.
