Arsenal player ratings from Ludogorets – Ozil MOTM

If it had not been for the sixth Arsenal goal against Ludogorets last night then it would have been Alexis Sanchez who was my pick for the Man of the Match, as the Chilean was brilliant throughout and score the best goal of the night to set us on our way to victory, but I cannot give it to anyone but Mesut Ozil after his first professional hat-trick to cap a great game from the German.

Ospina 7.5 – Busier than expected but was up to the task and made some vital saves.

Bellerin 7 – Good game but not quite his usual attacking impact.

Mustafi 7 – A mistake or two but in general very strong performance.

Koscielny 7 – Similar to his partner at the back.

Gibbs 7 – Did very well on this rare start and may have given the boss a selection headache.

Coquelin 7.5 – I thought the Frenchman was fantastic and a vital part of the win.

Cazorla 7.5 – Brilliant pass for Ozil’s first. Key man in most of our possession play.

Ozil 8.5 – Sublime first touch, fine finishing. He gives Arsenal a real cutting edge.

Walcott 7.5 – Another impressive game from the reborn forward. Great goal shows soaring confidence.

Chamberlain 7.5 – Very impressive from the Ox who should now start more games.

Alexis 8 – Super goal, drive, desire and talent.

subs:
Elneny and Iwobi 6 – Decent showings from the bench.

Lucas Perez 7 – Two quickfire assists and good impact gave his confidence and playing chances a real boost.

  1. Yes but what does Michael Owen thinks? Is Ozil that good? Have you heard him the other day? That Ozil goes hiding in the big games. If only we would win games recently against title rivals. If only. Hehehehe.
Meh, even Robbie Savage thinks Owen is retarded. Just let that sink in, Robbie Savage ffs.

  2. The story of emergence of coquelin deserves a mention. People talk about Jamie vardy, but coquelin’s career looked to have ended when he was sent on loan to Freiburg. He has risen from the dead. Now he is the best CDM in the league.
That’s why wenger brings the best in players. He keeps believing in them even if the players don’t in themselves. Same happened with walcott. People were saying at the start of the season that Walcott is deadweight and get mahrez etc. But he believed in him.
He believed sanchez is a centre forward. People slated him, but he believed.
He believed in Bellerin when there was debuchy ahead of him. Now he is the best RB in the world.
Koscielny made mistakes at the start, but he kept him in the team. Now he is the best CB in epl.
    Same with Iwobi.
Special mention to Ospina who wenger was slated for when he put him in goal.
Believe it or not, If you believe in someone, you will get the best out of them. Wenger is a classic proof.
Sorry wenger for not believing in you..

  3. My MOTM was Ospina. At a crucial stage in the match he made FOUR world class saves…to me that trumps Ozil’s hat trick!
