Arsenal player ratings from Sunderland – Alexis MOTM

I was tempted to give my Arsenal Man of the Match award to Olivier Giroud for his super sub heroics and our central midfield warrior Francis Coquelin seriously impressed me again but it would be extremely harsh on the amazing Alexis Sanchez if I did not recognise the fact that he was the best player on the pitch by far and that he turns Arsenal fr4omn a good team into a great one.

Cech 6 – A little unlucky to concede the penalty as he was pulling out but he did touch Watmore and it could have cost us.

Bellerin 7 – Another good game but outshone by Gibbs on the left.

Mustafi 7 – Solid and impressive Kostafi pairing goes on and showing class on the ball more and more.

Koscielny 8 – Would have beaten Watmore to ball in penalty incident. Best defender in the Premier League.

Gibbs 8 – Must now get a run of games ahead of Monreal and surely warrants an England call up.

Coquelin 8 Most underrated player in Arsenal squad and EPL. His saving tackle on the hour was as good as any goal.

Elneny 7 – Much better than last week but lacks creativity of Cazorla in games like this.

Ozil 7.5 – Another assist and some great skills without the massive impact he can have.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 7 – Brilliant cross for opening goal and good game but still a few mistakes to iron out. Improving.

Iwobi 6.5 – Some good stuff but not quite enough this weekend.

Sanchez 9 – What a player we have in the Chilean. Two super goals capped a fantastic display.

subs:
Giroud 8 – Back with a bang to give Arsene Wenger a real selection headache.

Ramsey 6 – Decent comeback and will get better with game time.

Maitland-Niles – No time for a rating.

Bob.

  1. Every one contributed very well to the win Well done Arsenal Well done Alexis Sanchez
This performance will sure bring in the reward we need to keep this performance going in our games great solidarity

  2. Just wonder if we had never signed Sanchez. Wenger would have been fired, Ozil would have left for City, Koscielny would have been captain and leave the next season.

Sanchez is a legend already. This guy brings the best out of everyone in the team. He is our Aguero

  3. Am so happy that every player wants to do well now.
We will see a different Rambo because of competition.

  4. Harsh on Cech when the initial error was not his fault. And not guaranteed Koscielny would’ve saved the goal either.

  5. I agree with the other posts. The penalty was Mustafi’s fault, not Cech’s. Sanchez was very dangerous in the match. If he gets older and slower in the future, we can still use him in central midfield position, like Cazorla, because he has amazing ball control, creativity, work ethics, vision and flair.
