Arsenal poised to seal deal for top German DM

With Arsenal having to do without our excellent young midfield general Francis Coquelin for at least three months, and knowing Arsenal that time period will keep being extended, the January transfer window can not come quick enough for us Gooners.

We just hope that Arsene Wenger is thinking along the same lines and according to a report in the Evening Standard the signs are looking good that he is. The report explains that the Arsenal boss has already drawn up a list of potential transfer targets, with names like Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon and that unpronouncable Polish guy from Sevilla, who reckons it is too cold to play football in England.

It also goes on to reveal that the Frenchman has already decided who his prime transfer target is and the lucky player that could be coming to play for Arsenal very soon is the Bayer Leverkusen and Germany international star Lars Bender.

We have been linked with this talented 26-year old before, and quite heavily before he picked up a thigh injury that ruled him out of the Germany world cup winning squad last summer. There are apparently quite a few clubs interested in signing Bender but the bookies have us strong favourites and the fact that Leverkusen are struggling down in 8th place in the German table should make persuading him to come to London a lot easier.

If he is a bit reluctant, we can always set the BFG on him can’t we?

  1. Wgood to have him but i really don’t care as this is an invented story and if wenger reallt snaped him up it will be just a lucky guess from a journalist

  2. Arsene Wenger is a confidence based manager, the moment.he sees long term absentees return he will not even give a crap about it. He stated before the Norwich game ” look at the internal options then decide to buy.” Lars Bender is a very good player and Wenger won’t want to jeopardise the dignity of players like Arteta,Flamini and CM options. It will be a hit on the face of Ramsey who wants to play in the middle, wilshere is adamant that he wants to play in the middle. I find it suspicious that hector bellerin who has made the RB his own states the team does not need anymore new signings even when the evidence is damning.

    1. He shouldn’t be too sentimental, this is the difference between him and Fergie, he should get rid of Flamini and Arteta and bring in Bender

    2. Well, his internal options are shyte. Arteta can win a game for any opposition, Flamini can’t run or hold the ball, Chambers still needs his mommy and that’s it for the internal options.
If Wenger doesn’t buy big in January, this will be the worst season since he took over.

      1. Haha, talk about fickle knee jerk reaction! Worst season since he took over? Simmer down a little young chap.

  3. Arsenal poised, that’s a new one. Add that to Arsenal are looking, Arsenal are scouting,Arsenal are preparing an offer,Arsenal have decided he’s to dear, Arsenal have a returning from injury he’s like a new player cobblers, Arsenal have enough cover in that position and last but not least, we will not be adding to our squad this transfer window.
These are some not all the reasons for not winning the title for so long.
If any of you can add to the above list, pray tell.

  4. yea Arsenal is poised……… We have been poised for years……… We don’t advance beyond the Poising stage

    .

    Loads of B.s

  5. If Leverkusen advances in UCL I don’t see how we can snatch him. Especially if we will not make it past EL.

  6. would be an excellent signing to replace arteta and flamini in one. he is having his best season this year as one of the top performing midfielders in euorpe right now.
