Arsenal right to spend BIG signing World Cup winner?

Arsenal are going great guns right now, in the Premier League at least. We won’t talk about the disappointments in the Champions League and Capital One cup as long as the Gunners keep firing in the EPL title race.

There are many factors behind the current league success and you have to give Arsene Wenger and the way we are playing for each other as a solid and unified team is hugely important, but you also have to look at some of out outstanding individuals and none has been more impressive, effective and influential than our king of assists Mesut Ozil.

So the news reported by The Mirror about the club being set to offer the Germany international a bumper new contract should be welcomed by Arsenal fans. Ozil has just turned 27-years old and so we do not have to worry about giving him a long term deal and if Arsenal can keep him throughout the peak of his career it could well help us to a lot of trophy success.

I just wonder whether this is really the right time to be talking contracts with Ozil. He already has two-and-a-half years left on the current deal and so it’s not as if there is any great urgency. I suppose a new contract offer could ensure that Ozil feels happy and wanted and that could help to keep his performance level high.

But I think that his form this season is in part a reaction to the criticism he has had since his move to England and I would hate for anything to change that and take some hunger away from him. What do you guys think?

  1. The main reason for Arsenal offering Ozil and Sanchez new bumper contracts is because Other clubs are showing interest in both of them.
Utd and Real Madrid are keen on Sanchez,
But According to his agent, Sanchez would rather go to utd,
Utd will offer £53 million for him in the summer.
Obviously some tapping up going on here!

    1. Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez would be interested in a move to Manchester United, as per Don Balon (via the Star). Furthermore, the report also claims that the forward would be prepared to snub the interest of Real Madrid too.

The report claims that the Red Devils are eyeing up the Chilean after his excellent debut season in the Premier League last year and United manager Louis van Gaal is prepared to pay £53 million to the Gunners for their star player.

  2. See Arsenal are not a small club and paying wages to best players should not be worry. Every one in the world needs more and more money. By paying good wadges you ensure that players are happy and put their best. For to long we suffered the so called big clubs poaching players from us. Now with this we have become big clubs and no one can poach players from us.
with these king of strategical changes by AFC (to offer bumper contracts to best players even before they reach the last 2 years ), we not only keep the rich English clubs like city and Chelsea at check, even Barcelona and Madrid have to think multiple times even to show interest in our players.
    Well done AFC

  3. OT: The first time I was happy for the international break due to our awful injury crisis and our poor performance against Spurs … But I am already bored now, come Saturday …

  4. I’ve said that Ozil bigger problem was to adjust his fitness level into EPL requirement. Once he get in there, he’ll be unstoppable. My believe on Ozil pays off now. Lets hope he can evade injuries for the rest of the season.
