Arsenal secure super signing from Emery’s old club PSG (plus video)

It looks like Unai Emery definitely has the ability to attract quality players to Arsenal, as it has been reported in L’Equipe that he has persuaded the teen sensation Yacine Adli to reject a contract offer from PSG and follow the Spaniard to Arsenal, despite reported interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The 17 year-old is attacking midfielder and was voted Paris Saint-Germain’s outstanding youth prospect last season. On receiving the award, Yacine said: “I don’t think these awards have changed my status,”

“It’s payback for the work that I do daily. These are nice distinctions but I can’t stop here. Like I say, there’s a lot of work to do and I have to look higher.”

“I’ll take it as it comes,” he said. “My first goal is to progress and to adapt little by little to the top level. Now, if there’s a chance to play, I’ll take it.”

L’Equipe reckons that Emery has given Adli assurances that he will get playing time in the first team, and I see no reason why he couldn’t play in all our Europa League games to start with to gain experience and then take it from there. The teenager has already featured for France at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level, scoring 13 times in 33 caps and looks set for a sparkling career at the top.

So check out this video and make up your own mind on whether we have got ourselves a superstar in the making or not….

    1. Look on the brightside
Napoli have activated Lucas torreiras release clause

*drops phone , heads towards cliff

      1. At last it’s happening. He was their replacement for Jorginho. The funny thing is I heard they are in talks in hope of getting him for lower than his release clause.

  1. Reiss Nelson and AMN are better game changing prospects we have and should use

    1. Are you kidding? Nelson is nowhere near this kid. I’ve seen Yacine on numerous occassions. He’s def better than Nelson. AMN comes a bit close. I’m happy for the future

  2. Will probably be a squad player because we are about 6-7 players short of the demanded 25-man short list.

    1. Err we actually have 28 players over the age of 21, so far from being short we need to offload some. 5 of that 28 are goalkeepers (Cech, ospina, Martinez macey and iliev) and also includes the likes of Wilshire Jenkinson akpom Campbell and Perez who may or may not have a future with us.

  3. Utube videos can be very misleading but he looks the part and has real composure on the ball. Why would Emery single him out?.He must have impressed him a lot.Let’s hope he gets plenty of game time.

  4. I think he’s a prospect and certainly looks good on YouTube but then again so do I.
Daftest rumour of the day is that we are in for Balotelli, ha bloody ha.

  5. First of all, I have to admit I know nothing about Yacine but watching the video I can see a youngster who is confident. He’s also looks quite tall, strong and quick. This is exactly the kind of youth we need coming through.

He’s one for the £not too distant” future for sure but, we do need some leaders in the team. More importantly we need “proven” leaders in the team. I head Ramsey might be considered as captain but I fear this is part of the “Please don’t leave us” deal!?

This is what fills me with less confidence. If the signs are true, we can expect a year of tinkering and experimenting whilst making a saving! (As usual)..

  6. looking at the vid the kid has a lot of confidence on the ball attack minded and we need someone with his height in the box to replace OG for those set peaces as the rest of our offence players are short apart from Welback but i never see him scoring with his head

  7. Haha Youtube compilations are the worst! Maybe one for the future, but right now we need proven quality. We desperately need to sort out our spine.

  8. Looks a confident player but I see no REAL change of pace in these clips. Pace is vital in the Prem and I thought his style looked a little too laid back for the Prem , though he is only 17, so who knows. If Emery thinks he is good then I’ll go with it but to my amateur eyes he does not look a potential world beater in the making. But as we all know You Tube short clips are not the way to judge; only on the pitch in a competitive game can you ever make a PROPER judgement.

  9. Don’t know anything about the kid but I will give him a chance. Hopefully we sign Sokratis and then get somebody a lot better than him technically also at CB.

  10. 3 champions league trophies in a row and Zinedine Zidane has still gotten the sack…yet there were debates about keeping the specialist at Arsenal.

  11. Am still hopeful that emery will make a difference but if the first 11 is Essentially the wenger team with a couple of aging but experienced defenders and young hopefuls then can expect more years languishing outside top flight football … only Chelsea among (past?) rivals seems to be as clueless at the moment … everyone else either clearing out or already strengthening …

  12. Thought we should be focusing on fixing the leaking roof rather than thinking about how the future house will look like.

We haven’t got any players in, to fix our mess yet.

  13. he looks the Nasri way by then at O.M Lets hope we will have our cups at home so no one will jump the ship for them as we have been seeing in the latter ages of Le prof.
