Arsenal secure super signing from Emery’s old club PSG (plus video)

It looks like Unai Emery definitely has the ability to attract quality players to Arsenal, as it has been reported in L’Equipe that he has persuaded the teen sensation Yacine Adli to reject a contract offer from PSG and follow the Spaniard to Arsenal, despite reported interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The 17 year-old is attacking midfielder and was voted Paris Saint-Germain’s outstanding youth prospect last season. On receiving the award, Yacine said: “I don’t think these awards have changed my status,”

“It’s payback for the work that I do daily. These are nice distinctions but I can’t stop here. Like I say, there’s a lot of work to do and I have to look higher.”

“I’ll take it as it comes,” he said. “My first goal is to progress and to adapt little by little to the top level. Now, if there’s a chance to play, I’ll take it.”

L’Equipe reckons that Emery has given Adli assurances that he will get playing time in the first team, and I see no reason why he couldn’t play in all our Europa League games to start with to gain experience and then take it from there. The teenager has already featured for France at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level, scoring 13 times in 33 caps and looks set for a sparkling career at the top.

So check out this video and make up your own mind on whether we have got ourselves a superstar in the making or not….
