Arsenal set to battle it out with Premier League giants for Bundesliga star

Arsenal battling Liverpool and Manchester United for the signature of 22 year Bundesliga star.

Arsenal has had problems with creativity this season and are reportedly looking at several creative players to improve their fortunes.

A lot has been said about Arsenal’s poor defence and rightly so. However, they have also had games where a little creativity could have helped swing the games in their favour.

With Mesut Ozil sidelined, Unai Emery may have to look outside to bring in some more creativity and this has linked the Gunners with a move for Bundesliga star, Denis Zakaria.

Zakaria, 22, has been a mainstay in the Borussia Munchengladbach side since he joined them. The youngster has constantly been attracting attention from Europe’s top sides over the past few seasons.

Reports from Sky Germany claims that Arsenal has joined the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United in tracking the Swiss midfielder.

According to the reports, Zakaria won’t come cheap and has been the subject of several bids already. In fact, Borussia Dortmund only recently failed with a £26m bid for him.

Arsenal operated on a tight budget in the last transfer window and it remains unclear if more funds would be made available this January.

The same report claims Arsenal would need to offer at least £43m if they want to sign the midfielder.

  1. If his price tag is 43 M, forget about it. Unless Arsenal can trade him with his compatriot, Xhaka

I bet Mönchengladbach would be happy to get their old captain back, because Xhaka would sell a lot of shirts for them. And Xhaka might be happy to go back to his old club as well

  2. With Emery as the manager am not confident that there is any quality player especially with other options like Man utd, Liv and even Dortmund available who would choose Arsenal instead. After all even if they joined they would flop under this alien like system

  3. An expensive Swiss midfielder from Borussia Munchengladbach? Deja Vu

Arent they still chewing the money we gave them for Xhaka.

  4. so we want a Swiss after treating his country mate and captain like trash and you think he can’t see and he will want to come? funny people

  5. I see some logic in that Fabnit,i dont think it is the best time to be trying to sign another swiss.

  6. Zakaria is a real talent who would be a meaningful upgrade on Xhaka and Torreria. He is tall, quick and athletic and is equally effective as a DM or in a more attacking role.He would be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal.

  7. Why not getting Yann Sommer (GK) Nico Elvedi (CB) and Denis Z. from Moenchen Gladbach. Then you would have a strong Swiss core, lets call it the Swiss guard.

  8. I agree with above, Swiss players aren’t going to come here if they have offers from other big clubs, all foreign players will have this on their mind when choosing which club to move to. I think AFC fans would rather pick up one or two from the PL than go foreign again.
