Arsenal play host to Manchester United at the Emirates this weekend, as we look to close the gap between ourselves and second place to only one point.
The Gunners come into the match on the back of a 5-0 win over Huddersfield, but that victory come at a cost as we lost Alexandre Lacazette to a hamstring injury, and he may now be missing for some time. His departure from the field saw us add another four goals on Tuesday night however, and there would be no reason to lose belief in our attack in his absence.
We are playing some great football at present, highlighted by our dominating display against Tottenham, and should be confident of putting our big rivals under it at the weekend, although the form book is known to go out the window when taking on close rivals.
Jose Mourinho is known for his mind games when it comes to the important fixtures, and considering how highly rated he is as a boss, his record playing away to the big six is awful. Since 2015, the Portuguese hasn’t a single away win over any of the five big rivals that he has come up against in the league, and is regularly criticised for ‘parking the bus’ in such encounters.
It is believed that he has little belief in his defence, which is why he has to task the rest of his team to help out predominantly at the back, and this attitude will of course hinder your chances of scoring goals, and therefore making it difficult to win games. His side have not only failed to win any of their matches since 2015, but have only scored one goal away goal against the top six sides in their last 10 outings, which should surely give us some confidence no?
