Arsenal signing set for tougher Euro 2016 test as Swizerland face Romania

Arsenal fans will soon have the chance to study our first summer signing in action at Euro 2016 again, as Granit Xhaka is sure to start for Switzerland in their second group game against Romania. Our new Gunner was widely regarded as one of if not the best players on the pitch as the Swiss got off to a winning start against a very defensive Albania.

Xhaka and his team mates can almost certainly expect a tougher test against the Romanians, especially after they need some sort of result against the Swiss in order to stay in the competition. Romania can consider themselves unlucky to have lost to the hosts France, as it was a late wonder striker from Dimitri Payet that denied them a hard fought point.

So I expect them to come at Switzerland and that should give us a good idea of Xhaka’s defensive midfield capabilities, as well as providing a test of his discipline and attitude under pressure.

Arsenal fans also have the Swiss left back Ricardo Rodriguez to check out, as he has been the subject of many Arsenal transfer rumours recently. The young defender has a great reputation going forwards but today he will need to be on his toes defensively and so Arsenal fans can run the rule over both parts of this possible signing’s game.

If Switzerland do manage to win the chances are that they will be through, as France should beat Albania later to put them on six points each and that would leave Xhaka facing his new club colleagues Giroud and Koscielny in the final game to decide who tops the group.

Anyone reading where Liverpool fans are talking up smashing us on opening day? I read 1 comment saying this is a perfect time for Klopp to start the new season with a win against top 4 material…

Wenger really needs to get it right this window and set the team up accordingly. That last minute Joe Allen goal still lingers in my mind. FUMING!!! This is a game we need to kill off in the 1st half then hold it in the 2nd. Set our intentions right out the gate.
