Arsenal simply must get three points against the Hammers

Arsenal fans have been waiting for the Unai Emery effect to come into play after our two losses to Man City and Chelsea, and against west Ham at the Emirates today the pressure is going to even greater to finally get three points on the board.

Jack Wilshere’s new side are also pointless after two defeats to Liverpool and Bournemouth and will also be desperate to get their first point, but there is no room for error for the Gunners. Emery admitted it wouldn’t be easy but agrees the fans need to see some improvement as well as the points. He told Arsenal.com: “In our process, we are going 38 matches [in total] against all the teams.

“Whether you are playing against Manchester City, it’s the same as if you’re playing against West Ham on Saturday. There are three points on this game. It’s clear that every game demands different things tactically. After the first two matches, we have two defeats and we need to win this match against West Ham. The difficulty is in this game because West Ham are a good team with good players and a good coach. They know the Premier League very well and they have a lot of new players. We are thinking in our way and about our work to create our ideas and our system on Saturday with our supporters at the Emirates. I think it’s very important to show them a better performance than in the two first matches.

“We are preparing well, I am feeling well when I look at the players in training every day.”

Emery seems confident that we are improving. The players keep saying that the training is paying off, well today is the time to prove it. Nothing less than three points is acceptable.

Let’s get behind the team and make sure it happens!

  1. The confidence wouldn’t be the highest its ever been so hopefully the players will work hard. Just as well we’re at home because if it’d been away I must admit I’d be more worried about staying on nil points. We need them, that’s all there is to it, so hopefully no gifts at the back today.

Read that Milslintat identified Guendouzi, would’ve thought it Emery because he knew him, but that’s some good scouting there by Mislintat. Or our guy in France whoever he is probably put Mislintat on the scent.

  2. Mkhitaryan and Bellerin combo in attacking was attractive at the Stamford Bridge, but they could not defend well against Willian and Alonso

In the upcoming match, they have to strike first before Felipe Anderson and Masuaku threaten Arsenal’s defense

The first goal will be very important and I expect the assists to come from the wings

    1. Totally correct -it’s all about finding the balance beyween defending and attacking. Its also about being confident with the new system Emery has us playing and a good win with a solid performance today will give the team confidence going forward. The crowd plays a big part.A London Derby is always a good atmosphere and we don’t get too many of them with a Saturday 3pm kick off so it’s all in place for us to go out and perform today. An early goal will have us settled and will lift the crowd.

  3. So it’s the 3rd game of the season and already our “world class no. 10” has called in sick having missed training sessions. Ozil has to get his act together because Unai seems like a ruthless guy who won’t entertain complacence from players. But no worry, Micki can do a better job in the middle and Nelson on the right.

  4. Ozil has simply been dropped.he is not sick.

    thank you Emery.
tough decisions like this are vital.

there is no need to play ozil if he affects our balance and is a passenger.
    play mkhitaryan in number 10.
wings put players who can track back.

easy win vs westham today if ozil and xhaka don’t play.
