Arsenal star says Giroud will get Arsenal train chugging!!

It has been a slow burner for Arsenal this season, with our momentum in the Premier League similar to the way an old steam train used to build up speed. And the Gunners have also had a few false starts, with Arsene Wenger and the players having to relight the burners and start shoveling coal again, but hopefully Arsenal are now getting up to speed and are about to put a serious run of good form and results together.

Aaron Ramsey certainly hopes and thinks so, and the Welshman also reckons that the return of our big French striker to the squad will play a big part in making sure that the three good performances against Man United, Borussia Dortmund and West Brom is not another false start, as an Arsenal.com report explains.

Rambo said, “Even though there was pressure, we played well against Man United and just built on that. We won in midweek against Dortmund and carried on and got back to winning ways in the league, so hopefully we can continue this run now.

“It was important to build on midweek and keep this run going and it is nice to win again. It was never going to be easy with the quick turnaround but we did well, we dug in and got the three points.

“It is nice to have him back in the squad. He holds the ball up well, he links play and he is dangerous as well so we are delighted to have him back.”

Giroud has had plenty of stick from Arsenal fans and the football media since his transfer to Arsenal from Montpellier a couple of years ago, mainly for his lack of goals. But a big part of the centre forward’s game is his link play and the way he can hold off defenders with his strength and play his team mates in with a very good touch, pass of fancy flick.

Ramsey was one of the main beneficiaries of that last season, with a lot of his goals coming from Giroud’s good work, so it is no surprise to hear that he is pleased to have the big man back. He got quite a few more chances yesterday and now we have the added threat of serious pace on both flanks, with Welbeck, Walcott, Alexis and the Ox. THat should mean that Giroud’s own lack of pace is even less of an issue and should see the Gunners go goal crazy.

Giroud also plays a big part in defending corners and free kicks and with Koscielny now back and Debuchy close, the Gunners will be much tighter at the one end while scoring more at the other. So will the return of Giroud coincide with Arsenal steaming up the Premier League table?
