We Arsenal fans have to be honest with ourselves that the recent rumours about our contract talks with Alexis Sanchez have been decidedly un-positive. Whether it is true that the Chilean is demanding 300,000 a week to persuade him to sign may or may not be true, but Alexis himself has said many times that he wants to win trophies with Arsenal. This is a fact not a rumour.
It is also a fact that Sanchez has looked increasingly frustrated when we have dropped points, and with us currently sitting in 5th place, 8 points behind Chelsea, the EPL title seems to be receding into the distance. So with it looking more and more likely that Alexis will want to leave for a more successful side, there would be no surprise that Wenger is looking for suitable replacements, and the latest one to enter the frame is the PSG hitman Lucas Moura.
The Brazilian is versatile like Sanchez, and at only 24 years old he will still have a long career in front of him. Moura has been at PSG for three and a half years now so he could now be willing to take on a bigger challenge that the French Championship, and I am certain that we could afford him with the funds we get for Alexis if he leaves…
