Arsenal team for Liverpool away DOES include Alexis Sanchez

With the international break coming up and with the results of Arsenal’s big Premier League rivals Man City, Manchester United and Chelsea all going the wrong way, from our point of view, this weekend so far, it is vital that the Gunners get back to north London with something from our away game against Liverpool, and I would go a little further and say that a draw would not really be enough today.

It is not an easy fixture, though, even though Arsenal are coming off a shaky start to the new Premier League season after losing away to Stoke, so every Arsenal fan will be delighted to see that Arsene Wenger’s team for the game at Anfield includes the Chile international star Alexis Sanchez, although Lacazette starting on the bench with Welbeck in the XI will certainly raise a few eyebrows.

Not only is Sanchez a big boost for our chances of success today, it tells Gooners around the world that our star striker is going nowhere during the last few days of the current transfer window. Almost as good iand potentially pivotal n my opinion is the return of Laurent Koscielny to the back line, with Holding and Monreal the players either side of the Frenchman.

The need for a win is shown clearly by the boss picking a positive central midfield of Ramsey instead of him bringing Coquelin back, while the contract rebel Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also keeps his place in the side as summer signing Kolasinac drops to the bench.

      2. That is why he is a better winger than a striker because of his energy. Welbeck might end up scoring but there is a reason Ferguson even used him on the wing, because he defends.

        Someone mentioned it here last season that Welebck is the best defensive striker in the world. But when it comes to scoring goals, well you saw how many chances his failed to score already this season, 1 goal in 7 chances I believe.

          Don’t blame the players but the person that selected them and ask the to play out of their natural positions.
          Spending so much on a striker and benching him in an important match.
          A natural CB on the bench while a LB plays CB.
          When is he going to walk away?

    2. 3 games into the season, 3 poor touches from Xhaka leading to a goal. Yeah 2 assists too but the guy is fast becoming a liability in possession!

      1. Exactly I said it before 30 million midfielder so sad to start, can’t keep possession, can’t pass, can’t defend, not fast. Stands in midfield and does nothing.

  3. S*itty line up, players out of position and Kola Laca on the bench (Kola stronger, faster and more technical than Monreal) and Laca who has scored in both of the last 2 matches.

    I predict 3-1 to Liverpool. 2-0 down at half time, we concede right after the start of 2nd half, Welbeck to miss tons of chances, Sanchez to score, Özil to disappear, 75 minute substitutes, Xhaka to do something stupid, Monreal to be skinned alive.

    “We were not physically ready” on the cards.

  9. Lacazette, Kolasinac and Giroud benched!….And Welbeck leads the line . You couldn’t make this shiiite up. And you can bet your bottom dollar that no matter what happens during the game, our leader will not change a thing until the 67th minute. It looks like a free hit for Laugherpool!

      1. No sir. We just need a new manager, the current players (bare the midfield) are good enough to mount a credible title push, but there is no manager to exploit the ability in the squad.

        Currently,
        Sanchez, Lacazette, Giroud as a front 3,

        Koscienly, Mustafi and Mertersacker as back 3,

        Kolasinac as LB (Monreal as substitute) is cute.
        The right back is a worry currently (with the Ox almost out).

        Then the midfield (with Carzola out) is entirely a “no man’s land”. That is the area of concern for a credible coach.

        Please, what does it take to sack a manager?

    We all knew it will be exactly like this, but if you dare say it before the match, you will be branded a fake or plastic fans by the Wenger band.
    Arsenal should refund the away fans, this is criminal but then again, what has changed? Transfer window, errors and loosing possession leading to goals, counter attacks leading to goals on account of our ever increasing high line, playing players out of position, loosing to top six teams away, hardly wins any game against the top six, our best players wanting out.   83. No control in midfield. Atleast with Elneny he plays sensible even though he isn’t creative. But with Ramsey always going forward you only need to beat Xhaka and your straight through to the defence. Elneny not even on the bench.

    But Ramsey isn’t the only problem. There are players there who look like they don’t want to play for the club. Then there is a clown on the bench already thinking of excuses of why we lose this match.

  90. Just saw a clip of Ox and Ramsey walking away with backs turned while Liverpool recovers the ball and score their first. The next was Ramsey in Liverpool’s 6 yard box, the furthest player forward when Liverpool scored their second.

On top of that Wenger can’t motivate the players at all by his presence. I’ve been neutral on the whole Wenger in it or out saga, but I’ve decided this guy has got to go if Arsenal are going to be able to compete with the best again.
