Arsenal to effectively end Tottenham’s season?

While Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that a derby day clash with Arsenal can get his struggling Spurs team out of the rut they have gotten themselves into over the last month or so, the opposite could also be true and the Gunners could effectively end their hopes of a successful season.

An Arsenal win would leave the spuds a sizable six points behind us in the table and probably behind Man City and Liverpool as well. That is by no means an insurmountable obstacle but the fact that we would have inflicted another damaging blow to their confidence and morale would make a Tottenham title win extremely unlikely.

After Liverpool knocked them out of the EFL cup recently and with their stuttering form in Europe leaving them staring at an early Champions League exit, the Premier League will be in even greater focus, so an Arsenal victory this weekend will be a huge blow to them.

To really destroy their season at such an early stage, however, I think that our victory tomorrow will need to be a devastating one. These derby games are often close but I think we are in the form and hopefully the mood to make this one an absolute pasting.

Now what would that do the poor old spuds?

Bob.

  1. This is a ridiculous article, anything can happen in the premier league. Complacency is what loses you games in the prem and I just hope the players do not think they can just walk all over spurs simply because they are in bad form at the moment. Show up with the right attitude and play to your full potential, then we will see the result we are looking for.
