Arsenal to kick on now injury problems are almost over

Every season at some point, if not throughout the whole thing, Arsenal seem to have an injury crisis. We will never know for sure if losing Ramsey, Ozil, Walcott and more cost us the Premier League title a few years ago or whether we would have beaten Leicester City to the trophy last season if Coquelin, Cazorla, Alexis and all had not spent long spells in the treatment room.

You have to accept that these injury problems do not help, though, so it was a bit of a downer for Arsene Wenger to have to start the season already struggling to cope with a defensive crisis and fitness issues for the likes of Giroud, on top of the long term absence of Danny Welbeck up front.

Now, however, it appears as though there is light at the end of the tunnel for the Gunners and the boss will soon have an almost complete squad of players to choose from. In the latest team news reported on Arsenal.com before the Hull match Wenger revealed that Gabriel is back in training and likely to feature in the EFL cup game at Nottingham Forest.

We already have Walcott back and Aaron Ramsey is close, while the toe injury that kept Giroud out this weekend is only minor and he was at least able to train. So by next week Arsenal could have just two players out of action and even though both Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck will not be fit for a while, has Wenger now got the squad he needs to really kick on?

    1. Xhaka makes Pogba’s signing looks more stupid,
As for the Ramsey he will find it really hard to break into this team, Cazorla was already ahead of him and now there’s Xhaka and elneny watching from the bench (better options), to make it worst Walcott looks unstoppable.

      1. Ramsey should be made to find it hard to get in the team as should all the players so they will all have to raise their game whcih could be good for Arsenal so long as we do not incur more injuries

  1. The problem is not having the whole squad but the right selection and balance that allows key players play to their maximum. Did anyone else notice that Ozil seem not himself? I got from a good source that he’s not happy with team selection, wants Sanchez an Theo on d wings, and a quick proper Striker up front. He’s not happy, he wants to brake d assist record but Wenger isn’t helping. Ozil’s thinking of moving… Wenger sees Ramsey as Ozil’s replacement.
I’m not happy with this info since last night… :p

    1. @Okayblack It’s quite easy to speculate, and call it credible. But it’s quite obvious to see that Ozil has been quite lacadesical with his play…his body language is completely off.
I however agree that we’re not playing our best 11 yet.
Good thing we are almost full strength as per injury problems.

  2. O.T

Cazorla is still the best B2B in the team

Coquelin is still the best B2B in the team

Iwobi played really well, just needs to work on his concentration because at times he makes unforced errors…oh and his defense needs work…lot of work

Ozil looks like he is not really interested,i don’t see the desire to do better than last season from him…that being said he hasn’t been bad, just nowhere near last season

Sanchez is a one footed, procrastinating player who needs space to produce his best hence striker doesn’t seem suited for him at Arsenal

Mustafi is still awkward for me…seems to jump into tackles without calculating…but he hasn’t been bad and will probably get better from here on…i think Kos should play the Mertz role now of sitting back and allowing Mustafi to jump in because we can’t have both of them committing.

Xhaka hasn’t impressed me one bit…i fully understand why Wenger is keeping him on the bench…Cazorla is better than him at B2B and Coquelin is better than him at DM.

Cech has rather been disappointing this season

I rate Coquelin as one of the best performing players so far this season…he really gets a lot of good work done in midfield. Fans must stop underrating him just because we have a 35M man on the bench…he really gives us what we need in midfield.
