Arsenal to lose Bellerin as Wenger’s China warning bites?

I might be rushing ahead a bit here and worrying over nothing, but the young Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin has already been the subject of quite a few Arsenal transfer rumours linking him with a move back to his boyhood club, even though Bellerin has always said that he is happy where he is, for now at least.

As the winter transfer window ended with a bit of a whimper in England, a lot of the reports in the football media were about the big money deals for players going to play in China and Arsene Wenger last week warned that the amount of money in their Super League could soon be causing problems for the Premier League clubs.

The Frenchman’s warning could come true sooner than he expected as well, with Arsenal being the EPL club to suffer, if the Daily Mail report about Dani Alves is true. The Barcelona and Brazil star has apparently been offered a mega money deal worth almost £10 million a year and at 32-years old he is sure to be sorely tempted to go.

If this happens, who do you think will be top of their transfer wish list? With Joel Campbell saying in another Daily Mail report that Bellerin is well on his way to being one of the best in the world, the Barcelona born defender who came through their academy at La Masia could soon be the target of some serious interest from the Spanish champions.

Time to sign him up to a new contract Arsene?

  1. Bellerin already stated a billion times he’s not leaving Arsenal for Barca. He left them in the first place knowing he would want a future here and he’s already seen what’s happened to Fabregas the so called “Barca chosen one”.

    1. It’s not going to be his decision to leave the club. The club will force his sale. Kroenke’s intent to cash in on every occasion will not be obstructed. Expect to see the backs of Sanchez and Ozil as well, sooner than later. Expect to see any player with the increased value sold the next season. Just wait for the next summer transfer window. We’ll lose Sanchez, Ozil, Bellerin and Ramsey. I guarantee it and you’ve read it here first.

  2. Allow me to be visible again.
Bellerin to barca? Thats no news. But will he want to return? Yes, most probably. But will he? Hmmm? I dunno. Barca blah blah blah. Barca dna blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Enough example before him, so he should know by now that moving to barca don’t guarantee success or greatness. Be a gunner and be loved. Become a legend.

  3. We like to create panics in this forum.why? Bellerin has not even been linked to china move and here we are already expecting it.and even if he goes, surely we wil find another player
Having said that, Bellerin is not 100% these few weeks.Apart from FA cup rests he also needs to be rested in the Epl a little cos he is still very young imo..buh what do I know??

the article did not say Bellerin is linked to China move. Rather, it x-rayed the possibility of Barcelona replacing Dani Alves with Bellerin knowing fully well that the former is on the radar of high-spending Chinese clubs.
And if you know how Barcelona had circled our players like vultures in recent time, you will understand the fright.

  4. Back in the day players had an ‘excuse’ to leave Arsenal. We weren’t exactly striving for top honours and how could we when we had initial stadium expenses and other clubs like Chelsea, Barca, Madrid etc were paying top dollar for players.

Things have changed, Arsenal have something special now and I think a player such as Bellerin still so young would be stupid to leave. Yes, if he continues his excellent form, the big clubs will come knocking but it still is a massive gamble as if you don’t cut it at those clubs or you fall out of favour with the manager, you end up benched and eventually move on to a club like AC Milan.

    1. We still aren’t and won’t strive for top honors as long we have Kroenke as our master. All the board wants is a Wenger trophy and selling players with increased value on the market. Wait and see.

  5. Bellerin has not been at the top of his game as usual of late. Why? No one is competing with him for a starting spot in the team. Even when Debuchy was around, Bellerin is solely given the rightback position to manned on a permanent basis. A seemingly frustrating situation that has forced Debuchy away to France. And Chambers is largely seen as a back up to Bellerin. Has the non competition for a starting role at the Gunners’ rightback position made Bellerin to become complacent in his recent games for Arsenal?
