Arsenal to snap up out-of-favour Real Madrid star?

According to the latest Arsenal transfer rumours the Gunners and Liverpool will be battling it out as rivals for the signature of Real Madrid winger Jesé Rodriguez. But just how much truth to the tale is there in this rumour?

Spanish media outlet MARCA are reporting that Real Madrid gaffer Zinedine Zidane has advised Jesé to keep his options open to him this summer, with Madrid looking to potentially offload the Spaniard. Jese is reportedly unhappy with his lack of playing time at Madrid and due to arrival of Morata and consistent strengths of Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema, it doesn’t seem he will become a first team regular any time soon. Despite being known as one of the biggest powers in world football when it comes to both prestige and finances, apparently Real Madrid need to sell some of their current crop in order to invest in some of the bigger targets of the window. So with this in mind, Los Blancos are reportedly still weighing up the sale of both Morata and now Jese.

Personally I’m not a massive fan of Jese because I find that he isn’t a character on the pitch that makes his whereabouts known. He isn’t a strong forward and seems to often go missing in matches, especially on the biggest stage. One positive is his versatility as he can play anywhere across the front line, making him an ‘ideal’ Arsenal target. However in my opinion there are other players in the same position who are more of a worthwhile investments instead of Jese.

Arsenal are known to be in the market for the winger this summer, having already reportedly targeted both Mkhitaryan and Draxler earlier in the window, whilst Mahrez is the latest star to be linked with the Gunners wing. Jese would add to that list for the position, but I do hope that Arsenal steer clear of this one!

  1. LOL…
    The rumours never stop…do they?
Anyway, as much as I know these rumours are false, I keep refreshing my webpage hoping for the best.
    Oh to be a Gooner.

  2. id have jese rodriguez , cheeky 18 million bid. still a rough diamond but can play across forward line an has skill an pace..

    ot…why did we leave highbury?
think about it. not from a pr standpoint.

    1. He’s not worth 18 mil. Doesn’t help that he’s quite injury prone. I’d say around 10-15 mil.

For your OT, obvious troll is obvious.

  3. I would be so mad out-the-window if we ever go after Jese rodriguez….

    .
We are talking bout and inconsistent player who can’t even go half the season without an injury romance !

Why are we even after this guy?…..rather Ben yedder over him anyday

  4. “One positive is his versatility as he can play anywhere across the front line”

    Like Gervinho and Carlos Vela?

    1. did u just mention gervinho?!
ah hell no..u know the rules , no shots fired at gervinho the squid or denilson
      *calls ivan to discuss….

      *releases the hounds

  5. Lacazette imho is the only realistic option for Arsenal in the striker department. If Le Prof wants the Lyon man than pay the freaking money already.
Why is AFC the only self presumed “BIG” in Europe that doesn’t quite grasp the universal reality of inflated transfer fees?
    Is Higuain worth $96M?
Is Batsyui(dude from Belgium) worth $33M?
    Is Troy Deeney worth $25M?
Is IBRA worth $300K a week?
    Is Lacazette with $40M
    Is Lukaku worth $70M

The answer is an emphatic NO to all these ridiculous figures but unfortunately that is the current inflated market and other European powers don’t blink when overpaying for the pursuit of futbol glory and trophies.

If Arsenal are willing to sign Lacazette and either Schar or Van Dyjk to the current squad the Gunners would pose a serious threat in both the EPL and Europe.

Add Mahrez with Theo and cash going to the King Power stadium and AFC would be a SERIOUS threat in all competitions.

I would also sell Jack or Ramsey to recoup some of the transfer money spent on the above players.

    Lacazette/Giroud
    AS… Ozil…Mahrez
    Xhaka….Carzola
    Nacho….Boss….Van Djyk…HB
    Cech

  6. Some in here want Ben yedder having not seen him and quoting he’s better than Giroud, wow just wow how desperate are you guys, I’m not a big fan of giroud but il take him over Ben yedder

  7. Rather Yedder do not have injury issues and more consistent than Jesse. now we need an experience CB to go with our youngsters before the season starts, hope who soever is chosen will get to play in some preseason games to go into the new season.

It could be the beginning of the end for Mert, because in recent times whenever the CBs have long term injuries its difficult to get back into the starting 11, but i wish the BFG a speedy recovery

  8. We are bidding on Jese Rodriguez from Real Madrid
United are bidding for James Rodriguez from Real Madrid
I thought we were supposed to be bidding for Roberto Rodriguez
