Arsenal transfers – Cech and Perez staying and Ramsey unaffected by speculation

With most of Arsenal’s transfers in already completed, the focus is now on which players will be trimmed from our bloated squad. Petr Cech and Lucas Perez were mooted as possible departures, but both of those have now been discounted. Perez was rumoured to be a target for Lazio, but his agent has denied this and said his client is fully ready for a season with the Gunners.

Protio Sport have announced: “It’s nothing believable, they invent things. Lucas wants to triumph at Arsenal, he signed there with that intention.

“Lazio is a great team, but Arsenal are also. Lucas is in Singapore with his team preparing for a new season that we wish would be a great season. We have not talked to Lazio for months.”

Petr Cech himself has made it clear he is staying as well, when he told reporters: “I have a contract with Arsenal. I am concentrating on this season, on the competition between the goalkeepers because we have plenty of options. I’m doing my best to show to the manager that I can be in the starting lineup when the season starts. That’s my aim and as for the speculation, I don’t really follow it.”

As for Aaron Ramsey, his future is still up in the air, but according to Cech, it is not affecting his training and form in the slightest. Petr said: “That’s a private matter for the club and the player. Obviously we would like to keep all the best players with us. Hopefully his situation will be sorted out as quickly as possible. It’s more for the player that he has the feeling that his situation is resolved and he can purely concentrate on the game. It’s been two or three weeks since Aaron started training, he’s been in top form, working really hard, so we can see it doesn’t affect him at all. As I said, it’s better for him if the situation is resolved quicker, we will see.”

We will need to see very quickly as time is running out fast. Hopefully his attitude in training means that he is confident that he can agree a deal with Arsenal. If he decides against staying it would be a blow to the start of Emery’s rein. Fingers crossed!
