Arsenal v QPR review – SMFH – LMFAO – and PHEW!

I really do not know which way to go on the latest Arsenal performance, because there were so many contradictory things to take from the Premier League home game against QPR. The Gunners did a fantastic job in many ways, by absolutely taking Harry Redknapp and his players to the cleaners.

The performance and the way that Arsenal and particularly Alexis Sanchez gave the visitors a lesson in football was an example of the best of the Gunners. It was footballing genius and I think that Tomas Rosicky, drafted in because of the injury nightmare keeping Ramsey, Wilhere, Arteta and the Ox out of the match day squad, deserves a huge round of applause for his contribution.

But as well as we did and for all the chances we created, Arsenal made hard work of this game. Alexis was amazing but his attempt to score from the penalty spot was so bad that it should mean that the Chile international never takes another. He was fantastic though and did win the penalty, scored the opener and made our second, so I will forgive him that weak penalty.

Giroud, on the other hand, is a lot harder to forgive for his petulant and stupid reaction that saw us have to struggle to the end of the game with 10 men. But it was our failure to fully capitalise on the amazingly one sided game that really struck me.

Wer should have been at least four goals up and the Gunners still looked like we had more men than QPR ater Giroud’s red but the fact is we made it a horrible and nervy finish and it should never have happened.

What should have been the perfect tonic to our recent woes turned out to raise a lot more questions and give us more problems to deal with. How typical of our season so far!
