Arsenal v Swansea Match Preview, Line-up and Score Prediction

Arsenal play host to Swansea at the Emirates Stadium this weekend in Premier League matchweek 10.

The Gunners come into the match in top form, having won nine of our last 11 in all competitions, our rivals meanwhile have mixed form to boast. The Swans come into the match on the back of four losses from their last five in all competitions, but at the same time, they have only conceded one Premier League goal away from home this term, including 0-0 draws at Southampton and Tottenham.

Danny Welbeck and Shkodran Mustafi are the only notable absentees for us this weekend, with David Ospina and Santi Cazorla also currently ruled out. We should have plenty of options to get the better of our rivals, but they will likely be set up to defend their hearts out.

Predicted XI:

Cech
Koscielny  Mertesacker  Monreal
Bellerin  Xhaka  Ramsey  Kolasinac
Ozil  Sanchez
Lacazette

As much as I think Xhaka’s first-team place is in question, I think Wenger will give him this outing, although I believe Elneny deserves a run in midfield. Giroud is also in with a shout, but Lacazette is keeping him out of the side, and he certainly looks like the long-term choice for the role.

I think we will be able to break down the Swans despite their impressive defensive displays away from home this season, and I’ll go with a comfortable 3-0 win. Once we score the opening goal, our opponents will have to open up in search of a goal, which will only increase the likelihood that we will add our tally.

What score do you expect in today’s 3PM kick-off? Are we confident of cracking their organised defence? Who is your pick for the goals (if any)?

  1. i am going for a 3-1 victory for Arsenal. well, with this Arsenal side anything is possible but i feel the quality of our players will be little too much for swansea and we will get three points easily. Xhaka doesnt look confident to me so elneny or coquelin should get chance. I wish Santi the magician was available to play this game but unfortunately he is out with injury. Hopefully the trio of Lacazette, Sanchez and ozil will perform like they did against Everton. Cant wait for this game. COYG!!!!!!

    1. We got a BFG!!!!!!!!!!

Best way of nullifying a threat is starving the supply… Can Xhaka and Ramsey & co do that?

  2. Why ozil and Sanchez? I would not play them again until they sign new contracts we have man city soon and do you think Sanchez will play out of his skin against the side he wants to join in January

    1. Seriously???

Wilshere played some odd 110 min after coming back from his injury….no Ozil after last weeks performance?

  3. I must confess xhaka has been underwhelming for me this season, his awareness is poor and his ability to shield the ball is poor,I have so much hope for him on improving I hope he does soonest
