Arsenal waiting for big offer for Ramsey – From Barcelona?

The end of the European transfer window is getting closer every day, and there is still no resolution to the Aaron Ramsey contract saga with Arsenal seemingly unwilling to match the wage demands of the Welshman, according to report in the Star this morning.

They reported: Barcelona have been linked with a move for Ramsey and will undoubtedly be closely watching developments at the Emirates.

Emery is reportedly under pressure to reduce Arsenal’s wage bill, which runs at a record high of more than £200m.

With the emergence of Matteo Guendouzi in the Gunners’ opening games of the season, the Spaniard could be tempted to cash in on Ramsey should a big offer come in.

If this report is true then it looks like Arsenal have given up trying to get Ramsey to accept their final offer, and have resigned themselves to either a sale or allowing him to run down his contract.

This could result in either him leaving on a free next summer, or Arsenal finding a buyer in January if he is to move to another EPL side.

I really don’t see Barcelona, or any other really big European side coming in in the next week, so I am now expecting a January move. What do you think?
