Arsenal waiting on Lewandowski decision?

It wouldn’t be a proper transfer window without an Arsenal transfer rumour linking us with Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, and today the Daily Express has filled the gap in for us.

Just like last summer, they are saying that Arsene Wenger is willing to wait until the last day of the transfer window to get his man, as it will only be possible if Madrid get there wish to prise Robert Lewandowsi away from Bayern Munich. This will allow the media to bring out a new Benzema rumour every day until the windows shuts with the Frenchman still at Real Madrid as usual.

The fact is that there is absolutely zero chance of Bayern letting their genius hitman leave Germany, especially to a club that is a direct rival for the Champions League. As the Bayern technical director Michael Reschke said just a couple of weeks ago: Lewandowski will be at Bayern next season,” he said.

“I can tell you categorically that Lewandowski will remain a Bayern player.

“He has three years left on his contract, he is the best striker in the world and there is absolutely no possibility that he will be sold.”

I would like to back that up with my own declaration that Benzema will definitely not be at Arsenal next season, but the fact is that this won’t stop the rumours from continuing…..

  1. Today is the last official day to bid on Ricardo Rodriguez. To trigger his clause that is. As much as I do love Gibbs I’d rather see him replaced with RR.
Don’t think that one will happen either folks, shame..

Regarding Lewandowski, I’m a bid fed up with these names it’s an illusion really.

sucks being an Arsenal fan in off-season, although I’m really happy with Xhaka

  2. I rather not see Benzema in Arsenal, remeber what happened last summer, all those kryptic message and then he said he is staying at Madrid. If he really can’t get a good striker get a goalscoring winger atleast.

    1. really? You wouldn’t take Benzema at Arsenal? That’s madness. “Cryptic messages” I’m pretty sure was him posting a photo of being on an airplane. It’s the medias fault they blew it out of proportion. It’s understandable we all went crazy though since Arsenal fans are beyond tired of Giroud.

  3. Lewandoski can be sold. Bayern did not pay a dime for him. They got him free of charge from Dortmund. What make them think he wont leave if a serious club come calling. He left Dortmund for Bayern. He can leave Bayern as well for a different club. Wenger should throw 55m pounds and a 200K per week salary and see what happens. Bayern is the best club in Germany but not the best in Europe.

  4. To be fair to Wenger I think he knows we need a WC striker. I understand that he wanted to run RVP’s contract out, but Kroenke wanted the money. The following season he tried to sign Suarez for £40m which at the time was a good offer for a player who had been banned for racial abuse and at the time was serving a ten match ban for biting. It triggered the release clause but Liverpool managed to deny it. Wenger then bought sanchez who is a goalscorer. Wenger also bought Welbeck. He tried for Vardy.h

Wenger just does not seem able to close a deal on a striker who is an upgrade on Giroud. The only strikers who get consistent approval on this site are lewandowski and aubameyang, neither of which are available.

Lets just hope that King Henry can work some magic on the U18 and produce a world class striker for us because it is the only way I can see us getting one.
