Arsenal’s move for Italian international delayed by Juventus’ indecision

Arsenal will have to wait on Juventus making a decision over defender

Juventus have one of the biggest squads in the world at the moment and their fringe players seem to be as good as those who have been getting selected.

Arsenal is one of the teams looking to get some value from the Juventus reserves and they have been linked with a move for Danielle Rugani.

Rugani is a long term target of Arsenal and the Gunners are hoping they can sign him up soon with the promise of more first-team action.

However, Juventus haven’t decided to cash in on the defender yet.

Rugani has struggled to get into the side this season and the former Empoli man is reportedly unsettled at the Allianz Stadium.

Reports from Italy via Calciomercato claim that the Old Ladies are looking to sell some of the defenders but they are still unsure if Rugani is the right defender to let go.

Rugani reportedly currently earns about 3.5m per season and that would be a huge amount to take off their wage bill.

Arsenal has remained with the same defensive issues under Freddie Ljungberg and a shakeup seems to be the only way to get it right.

Arsenal has already been linked with a move for Rugani’s teammate Merih Demiral, according to the same report.

If any of these rumours prove to be accurate then the signs are that Arsenal is actively looking to strengthen the defence in the winter transfer window.

  1. He has one appearance this season in Serie A. Nobody seems to rate him. If Arsenal go after him it’s just more disastrous decision making. Hoping this news is false. Would rather suffer with the bad defense we have until the summer than waste money on even more clowns. We already did that with David Luiz a few months ago.
