Bellerin transfer news brilliant for Arsenal – Bad for Barcelona

Even though the Arsenal and Spain star Hector Bellerin has been saying the right things in recent times on the subject of his future as a Gunner amid the growing number of Arsenal transfer rumours about his potential return to Spain’s La Liga with his boyhood club FC Barcelona, we really wanted this to be confirmed by the defender signing a new contract with Arsenal.

Well according to a Daily Mail report we can now stop worrying, while the Catalan club can start worrying about their right back situation. The paper claims that the talented young Spaniard has agreed a new deal that will keep him at Arsenal for over six years.

Unsurprisingly and as recognition for the fact that the pacy defender has already become one of the best full backs in the Premier League, Arsenal have also handed him a significant increase in pay to put him among the top players at the club earning over £100,000 a week.

This transfer news which is apparently going to be officially confirmed by the Arsenal board this week is a big boost for everyone connected with the club and suggests that our days of losing key players to big rivals in the Premier League and Europe are well and truly over.

  1. The United match showed how much we missed Bellerin when he Isn’t there

We need to get a quality back up in the summer if not January. Jenkinson Isn’t ready yet.

    1. “Quality BACK UP”

Please tell me what is this quality BACK UP? Who in their right minds wants to be a back up if he’s that much of a quality? Fullbacks are notorious for playing pretty much all the matches there are to play for (minus minor cups like EFL).

Fact is, there aren’t many teams with better ‘back up’ RB’s than we have in Jenkinson (plus he’s homegrown). Possibly United and City.

  2. great news, that it’s a Six n half-year contract even makes the news Greater.

we needed that in a month that has so far been of disappointing results n injuries.

  3. wonderful news. as i see it hector is our future, if we can hold onto him and build the team around him we will go places.

  4. quick question gooners: How much of an upgrade is Julian Draxler (Wolfsburg are willing to sell now) on Alex Iwobi considering what the latter lacks mainly at present -goals, the former doesn’t exactly have a lot of.
