Chicharito would be a great buy for Arsenal, but…..

Are Arsenal Really Interested In This Former Man United Star? by AT

With the January transfer window just around the corner, there have been several players linked with a move to Arsenal but perhaps the latest one is the most interesting of all. According to an exclusive from the Daily Star, the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is plotting a move for the former Manchester United star, Javier Hernandez.

After being told his services will no longer be needed at Old Trafford, the Mexican international completed a move to Leverkusen and has been in red-hot form in the Bundesliga, scoring 19 goals in 21 appearances. But despite his impressive start to life in German football, it is understood that the player is willing to have another crack at the Premier League.

Personally, I would love to have Javier Hernandez at the Emirates, the Arsenal squad could really do with a ‘fox in the box’ kind of hitman. Apart from having great pace and sumptuous finishing, Hernandez is also a willing runner off the ball and is known to be a brilliant team player. If you’d ask me, this is a player who was mismanaged at Old Trafford since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

But with that being said, I am really skeptical about the credibility of this story. Firstly, the Mexican has been with Leverkusen for just half a season and there is no way that the Bundesliga side will be willing to sell, even if the player is indeed interested in returning to England. In addition, Wenger recently stated that he was right not to sign a striker in the summer as Arsenal don’t seem to be having problems scoring goals.

So in my opinion, this is just another inaccurate report from the Daily Star. Clearly, Arsene Wenger’s priority is to add depth to the midfield and while Javier Hernandez will be a decent signing for the club, I really cannot see it happening.

  1. He will be a great buy but…

    – Won’t he get out-muscled by Stones and Kompany?
    – What happens to Theo Walcott’s striker aspirations?

  2. Top 4 team going into the new year stands like this

    Arsenal
    Leicester City
    Mancity
    Tottenham

Congrats to all Arsenal fans. We top the league going into the new year. I hope we remain focused and give our best in the 2ND half of the season…

    Arsenal All The Way!

  3. Not being funny, but if Aaron Ramsey gets injured, which isn’t unlikely, what will we do? We’ll have run out of midfielders! On paper we have so much depth in that position, but they’re all injured. Arteta, Rosicky, Wilshere, Cazorla and Coquelin are all out, and out long-term. February we should get Coquelin back, maybe Wilshere. Cazorla in March if we’re lucky, and who knows with Arteta and Rosicky these days…

  4. Okay keep calm guys. I told u guys dat all hope isn’t lost yet, now take a look at the table top….,,,, yea right there you go,,,… It is not a dream. Arsenal top the table. Now it’s time for wenger not to do wht he did last time by bringing in injured Kalstrom(whatever his name is lol). We need a proper DM (a most). Carry go and Never go down Ozil. Please how may I OZIL (help) Mourinho in getting a top club job? AhahahajhehehehOziljah

  5. Arsenal are on top of the table of the Barclays Premier League going into the New Year. My congrats to everyone that has something positive to do with Arsenal.

Now that we’ve gotten what we have been chasing-after since the beginning of this season, i.e. to really top the table. Arsenal MUST give it whatever it takes to remain top of the table always without backsliding up to the very end of the season campaign in May to lift the Barclays Premier League big trophy again after a long time.

The Boss should please add another top quality striker to his contingents during the Jan window in addition to the torted to be added midfielder Elneny. The Boss should seize the upcoming open window opportunity that is presenting itself to the Boss on a platter, and signs a striker mate for Oliver Giroud for option and cover for 2nd half campaign of the season.

Walcott is seemingly transferred by the Boss to manned the mid-front-right. And Welbeck won’t be available for selection to play until maybe February. And January – February campaign could be titles season defining for Arsenal as no ground in this 2 months period in the campaign should lost but enhanced in all competitions.

I want the Boss to holistically looked into the upcoming Arsenal’s January – February campaign in all competitions and do the needful for Arsenal objectively. I’ll rest my case for today.

  6. The next 10 matches will be very important for Arsenal We will need strength to go through it ….We will be missing carzola couelin wilshire from midfield and welbeck for that period the el neny seems to be on the ball affair if at all true On the attacking front we are blessed with alexi campbel wolcot jerud ozil i dont think Mr wenger will bring in any attackers but if he does it will show his intent
Congratulation for reaching the pole position and my success enrich our new year

  7. Leicester 0 City 0.
    Good for City + Arsenal.
    Ok for Leicester.
    But Leicester now travel to
both City and Arsenal in consecutive matches in February.
They also travel to Tottenham, Chelsea, Utd and Palace.
The foxes won’t win the league.
To me it’s City v Arsenal. No one else can come close.
City play 2 probably 3 more capital cup games…..
They have an easier last 16 ECL opponent Dynamo Kiev
so will probably have 2 more ECL games than us.
I think City have too many games and look fragile.
Arsenal will win the EPL this season

    1. I don’t know you, but I’ll count on Spuds too. With their current running, they could be the closer one to us and City. This is far of being two horses race.

  8. Have to agree Arsenal look to be favourites at this point but they`re still not convincing. Champions don`t lose 4-0 to a team at the bottom of the pile.

    1. And that team bottom of the pile was challenging for the top 4 spot last season. Don’t be quick to judge a team’s quality by their position in the table.
