Confirmed Arsenal team for semi-final clash with Chelsea

Arsenal have announced their starting line-up to take on Premier League champions Chelsea tonight as we look to beat them to a place in the League Cup final.

Manchester City booked their spot in the final thanks to a 5-3 aggregate win over Bristol City, and tonight’s victors will go into the final as outsiders to win the competition, but as we all know, anything can happen in the cup.

Our opponents will hopefully be hampered by their injury absences, with key duo Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Morata ruled out with injury, and our line-up should have more than enough to win today’s encounter.

Giroud and Welbeck had already been ruled out of action for tonight’s crunch encounter, which left us to rely on Alexandre Lacazette up front, and we cannot afford to lose the Frenchman to injury or red card or we will be forced to rely on the heroics of youngster Eddie Nketiah once again.

  2. If you replace iwobi with Aubameyang and Xhaka with miki all this team needs is a tough hardworking DM and we can compete that’s the frustrating thing

    1. I think Xhaka should be replaced with Lucas Torreira. Amazing feet (like Santi) but can intercept and tackle as well.

  5. Last season the Chelsea machine
    ground their way to the title.
    But like Leicester they had no
    European football.
    This season they play the same 15 players
    and look a very tired team with no plan B.
    City won the title in early November and
    Abramovich made it clear Conte would be sacked.
    Conte wants to return to Italy anyway.
    Chelsea won’t win the ECL and the Mickey mouse cup
    will not change Conte’s exit he is a dead man walking .
    Arsenal are out of the title race, out of the FA cup
    and Wenger needs to make top 4 to save his neck.
    Beating City in the final would be a distraction
    for both camps but a week later will mean sfa.

    Then why not Kos, Monreal, and Mustafi at the back, and replace Elneny with Sead and go 3-4-2-1??

    1. so You want Monreal at the back Three where he can not go forward and play a kolasinac that lost form… Sven knows nothing

  16. if we lose ozil we will go backwards … the guy has superb vision and he is working well with wilshere … need a DM though .. prefer elneny to xhaka tbh more disciplined

    1. look at elneny’s atrocious marking. he’s the dm here, so he has different responsibilities than Xhaka (of whom I’m admittedly not the greatest of fans).

  19. Not a lot of difference in player quality between two teams … They have a manager who gets more out of his players .. Hazard is class and konte way better than xhaka … But wilshere and ozil are class …

  26. We play final again. Not sure of any other manager than has been to Wembley more than AW in the last 5 yrs. Wembley is home to Arsenal. Let’s go pull a surprise against City. Not the biggest trophy around but we sure need it for confidence. And we are playing City……not going to be just another final. COYG!!!

  28. Need to keep the same system just replace Xhaka for Ramsey and Iwobi for Mhkitaryan, Iwobi played well owned Moses I just want to see Mhkitaryan on the left.
