CONFIRMED Arsenal team to face Palace – Ozil returns…

Arsene Wenger stated that Alexis Sanchez would be playing today if the deal with Man United was not concluded beforehand, so him not appearing on the teamsheet tells me we are just waiting for the final announcement from Man United, because we know Arsenal are always two days late!

Anyway we knew that Wenger was not happy with Chambers aand Holding last week, so we expected Koscielny and Monreal to be starting today. Here is the lineup I predicted earlier…

Mustafi Koscielny Monreal
Bellerin Wishere Xhaka Maitland-Niles
Iwobi Welbeck

And here is the official line-up

Bellerin, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal,
Wilshere, Elneny, Xhaka,
Ozil, Iwobi,

So Maitland-Niles is ill, and Ozil miraculously recovers!

Looks like 4-3-3 to me.

Surely this is good enough to beat Palace at home? Or not…..

  1. Guneal says:

    Not good enough…
Zaha will run riot and benteke will score.
The man to neutralize the threat and score is gone..
    We are DOOMED! Haaaaaaaaa??

    1. Anko says:

The annoying thing about this team is that they always perform when their backs are against the rope. If you can score 3 goals in 16, then wow!!!!!!!

  2. tatgooner says:

    another fraud line up.
Looks like our first win in 2018 will be a long time coming

  3. Liam says:

Nope it’s an average mid table side at best zero flair whatsoever even our opposite have flair in Zaha and we have Iwobi who can just about run in a straight line

  4. Maks says:

Where are Welbeck and Ramsey? Maybe Barcelona and Real Madrid are after them?
Can we beat Palace? Yes. Will players fight enough for the Manager and the club? I dnt know.

  5. l says:

With so many midfielders in the line up, I expect Lacazette to get a lot of chances this time around. Go for it Gunners.

  6. RSH says:

joke lineup. hopefully we see big changes next game. Iwobi again? Reiss Nelson deserves a chance and this is the perfect opportunity. but instead we put out deadweight. Not confident again, but hopefully we can squeak by.

  7. ThirdManJW says:

How on earth is Xhaka still playing? Does Wenger EVER re-watch previous games?

  8. Sue says:

Glad ozil’s back. Shame Iwobi is playing

  9. tatgooner says:

wenger playing monreal xhaxa elneny and iwobi prove that his managerial days were long gone and he is just passing time

    1. John Wick says:

Shocking! Most expensive ticket in PL to watch Alex Iwobi, and Arsene Wenger sit on his hands .. disgusting how this club is run.

      1. Maks says:

If Alex Iwobi is our worst problem then everything is great.
Lad is young and need lots of composure, but if you ask me I wont sell him. Maybe loan.

  10. Waal2waal says:

wilshire, ozil and laca can carve out a home win – we are lacking confidence but we’re not hopeless.

  11. John Wick says:

Can someone actually tell me what Alex Iwobi has done to earn his place in the first team? He’s one of the first names on team sheet these days! Liverpool have Salah Chelsea have Hazard Man city have Sane Man u Sanchez? We have Iwobi oh and we have Wenger! We are in deep deep trouble..

    1. Sue says:

      My thoughts exactly John

  12. Wolf says:

Wenger bought anyone new in yet? I hate that guy

    1. Sue says:

Don’t be daft… not the last day of January yet

  13. AndersS says:

Frightening how far we have fallen. We are actually discussing whether we are favourites to win a home game against a bottom club.
What will we be discussing in a years’ time, if Wenger is allowed to continue?

    1. Otunba007 says:

We will be discussing how not to get relegated

      1. Billy says:

        Really relegation?

      2. Billy says:

        Relegated really?

  14. GunnerJack says:

Elneny, Xhaka, Iwobi – the 3 stooges. Hope they can prove me wrong and at least pretend to be premier league material today but not holding my breath. At least Welbeck isn’t starting so that’s some consolation.

    1. GunnerJack says:

At least Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Nelson and Nketiah are on the bench. Useful if Elneny, Xhaka and Iwobi do have a nightmare and Laca is pulled off in the 70th minute.

  15. tatgooner says:

it seems the champions league is too big for arsenal these days might take us a decade to finally return there

  16. Billy says:

Stop being so negative people. I hate this line up too. However I don’t think it will be like this for much longer, give it another 2 weeks and hopefully it will be completely different. So many back of house changes, AW won’t be able to pick his meek favourites. Rumours are Ozil and our future captain Wilshere are going to sign new deals, if so there must be big changes coming. Let’s get January out the way, with the new guys hopefully coming, win Europa to get in CL. And next year let’s av it. People please correct me if wrong, I think new signings if it happens can play in Europa.

    1. stubill says:

Yes, as neither have appeared in the Europa Cup both (Miki and Auba) can play for Arsenal.

      1. Billy says:

Cheers, oh and 4 zip after 22mins COYG

    2. sanmi.marvellous says:

Aubameyang cant play in Europa because dortmund has dropped into Europa too.

      Only Mhkitaryan is qualified.

  17. Eat Pie says:

    Whoop whoop

  18. Eat Pie says:

Wow, we no need no sanchez

  19. Eat Pie says:

Does this confirm the dressing room attitude was bad?

  20. Sue says:

Omg Iwobi scored….. hit the deck

  21. GoonAR says:

  22. Eat Pie says:

    Mighty mighty Arsenal

  23. Eat Pie says:

Lacazette is so good, his play is so intelligent, so I’m not disappointed is his goal tally.

    Ozil is WC

    1. Break-on-through says:

That was his longest barren spell in five seasons. Which actually highlights how much quality the chap holds.

  24. Rkw says:

Unbelievable … My soccer channel had the game on but switched to man utd … What happens to mid table teams … And we end up on a goal fest!!!!

  25. Eat Pie says:

Lacazette at last whoop whoop whoop

  26. JJT says:

Everyone being so negative at the start of this thread! 4 effing 0 hahahaah woooo!

  27. Thebush says:

Really don’t care who you sell, buy or do AW. I’m in ecstasy. This is what I call sexy football.
Just keep letting the players play this way and you can stay forever

  28. G-Rude says:

Don’t you just love it when the negative twats on here come on all day predicting an Arsenal defeat and then we go three up in 15 minutes.
The problem is that they will still come back and say the same crap next week. If they want us to lose why are they even here?

    1. John0711 says:

      I haven’t seen you for a while ?

  29. GoonAR says:

    YEAH LACA get some

    1. Thebush says:

Yeah beautiful….I just wonder if Sanchez was the problem????

  30. Ackshay says:

This is freaking mad. Playing our old 4-2-3-1 formation. Crystal palace playing the same but completely unorganised.

  31. GB says:

So funny to see all the early, before kick off, posters have gone really quiet. Where are ya?

    1. Bob2 says:

Don’t go into a false sense of security!! Mediocrity will return on our travels… Elneny, Xhaka and iwobi are not good enough!!!!

      1. John0711 says:

Spot on wenger our all day long I support arsenal so I’m happy if we win but nothing else has changed

        1. Eat Pie says:

          100% truth

      2. Eat Pie says:

Bob the builder can Wenger fix it?

  32. Break-on-through says:

We love you Arsenal! ..We do!!!!

  33. Wibble says:

Remember this isn’t the Champions League or Europa League final.

But at least we have found a team we can still thrash.

  34. Goonerboy says:

    Whats happening?
It seems the players are happy to see Sabchez leave and that we are replacing him with good players because they ate so united and happy…

It will be so interesting if Manu eventually crash out of the top 4 even with sanchez and we somehow sneak in at their expense

  35. Adam Criniti says:

Surprised how reprehensible Palace has been considering there recent run of form.

A decent display in the first 25 minutes but still a clear lack of quality in certain areas on the pitch.

Arsenal desperately need Auba and Miki.

  36. Bur says:

So all the wengerites will be coming out from under their stones and thinking all is fine. As stated in earlier posts nothing has changed.

    1. Break-on-through says:

The Wenga bus is coming!! ..Auba yang is clubbiing ..Mkhit tarzan’s sunning, dada! dada dada…

  37. Wibble says:

GOAL Arsenal 4-1 Palace (Luka Milivojevic)

    1. sanmi.marvellous says:

Are u happy that we conceeded ?
Come to think of it, Milivojevic was coming from offside to score the goal.

      1. Wibble says:

No, I just saw the score update on the BBC and copy and pasted the update here.

  38. Wibble says:
