Confirmed – Kieran Tierney is officially an Arsenal player

Finally, Kieran Tierney is an Arsenal player signing a long-term contract as officially announced by the club.

It is understood that the final fee agreed between Arsenal and Celtic is £25 Million.

This transfer has been a bit of a roller coaster ride, two rejected bids, Celtic playing hardball, concerns over the player’s fitness and so on but that is all now in the past, Tierney is now officially a Gooner.

This is a brilliant transfer for Arsenal, Tierney is highly regarded, he is a Scottish international, has more trophies in his cabinet than Tottenham, has Champions League experience and is still only 22-years-old.

The young left-back has played for Celtic 170 times across all competitions, scoring eight goals and has 12 Scotland caps to his name.

Tierney is an exciting player that is first and foremost a quality defender, however, he is very effective going forward and is the exact sort of player that Unai Emery has been looking for.

It is not known when he will make his first-team debut because he is still recovering from a double hernia operation.

Signing Tierney adds to a brilliant transfer window for Arsenal and to think that at the start of the window it was being reported that they had just £45 Million to spend.
