Crystal Palace v Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-Up and Score Prediction – An easy win?

Welcome to yet another day of pressure on Arsenal to keep up their winning run as we travel to Selhurst Park to take on the mighty Palace, who are yet to win a home game this season and haven’t even scored one goal. The Eagles have never enjoyed playing the Gunners throughout their history and have incredibly only beaten us 4 times out of 43 meetings in all competitions.

So here is Palace’s home form this season…..

Whereas Arsenal are incredible form and are now seemingly unstoppable now they have adapted to Unai Emery’s training and tactics. Here is the Gunners away form in the League….

So on paper this should be another easy win for the Gunners, but we have to be wary considering that this is our third game in just six days. Even Emery admits that he has respect for Hodgson’s team. “When I was in France and in Spain, I would sometimes watch the Premier League and Crystal Palace is a team that doesn’t have a lot of big names in it, like the best teams in the Premier League. But they have very good players and produce very good performances. You watch it and say, ‘These players are very good and they have a very big level to play against the best teams’.

“Now I am here and I am watching, and I know that Crystal Palace is a very good team with very good players, with a very good coach and a lot of experience in the Premier League. For us, the respect is very big. I think they deserve more points in the Premier League and they deserve to be higher in the table, and for us it’s about having the respect and then preparing well for this match if we are to beat them.”

If there is one thing we can be sure of under Emery is that our team will be prepared well, and the way that Arsenal have rotated over the last few games has been very well controlled.

As for team news, We are still not sure if Monreal or Kolasinac are fit, but hopefully they both will be available, so looking at our recent rotation this is the team that I am predicting will play today….

Cech
Bellerin Sokratis Mustafi Monreal
Guendouzi Torreira Ramsey
Iwobi, Lacazette, Ozil

The great thing about Emery is that no-one really knows who he will pick from one game to the next. I think Cech will be brought back but I simply cannot be sure, and I wonder if Ramsey will be dropped after his outburst about his contract, but I am very sure whoever plays will be up for it and will take all three points.

I predict a usual 3-0 win and more misery for Hodgson. Palace could drop into the relegation zone today and their next three games are against Chelsea, Tottenham and Man United. It’s not looking good for Woy….

  1. Watching crystal palace this season I’ve been so impressed with their right back Wan bissaka very solid player, has pace power and very good on the counter as well if we offer palace 15-20 m £ think we would have gotten a very solid competitor for bellerin.saw him against mane in the Liverpool game and wowed at how he handled himself.
On the game today we’ll win 2-0 but will come difficult. COYG #EMERYARMY 12 & MORE

      1. Can you still not see that AM-N is not a full back but an attacking midfielder who can fill other positions too when we are pushed BUT is a midfielder to his fingertips? And a star in the making if ever I have seen one.. But NOT at RB.

  2. Crystal aren’t a push over but on how current form we should push them aside… Hoping for an assured victory and that Chelsea Leg go off some point too

  3. I don’t like Ozil on the left.
Sometimes I don’t like Ozil anywhere on the pitch LOL.
But his best position in in the centre
I’d prefer Welbeck on the left.

I’d prefer Holding over Mustafi and Lichtsteiner over Bellerin BUT we got League Cup on Wednesday so I guess they are being saved for that.

Anyway, I’m crossing my fingers for 12 in a row then hopefully a ‘Bakers dozen” at Home against Blackpool

    1. I think Emery should also take some responsibility for Ozil and Ramsey not being at their best for most part of this season. For a coach who has so much knowledge about Arsenal as said by Gazidis he would be known that Ozil is ineffective at RW and Ramsey relative Arsenals tactics is not a No. 10.I want to see both in the same team for about two games.I’m still in doubt and shock as to how it’s being said that Torreira-Xhaka is our best midfield partnership.

      1. Yes , it is obvious esp from 11 straight wins that Emery knows nothing whatever about football! Perhaps you would like to order my book called “How to destroy stupid comments with best sarcasm.” You have just read, for free, one of its best lines!

        1. You really do say some stupid things. Its common sense that Ozil is bad at RW and Ramsey for Arsenal at AM is nothing to write home about. This does not mean a team cannot go on a winning streak even if players are being played out of position.Football is a team sport and you know this.

      2. Kev

This is not to be rude but i don’t beleive any one cares.
If he played ozil in goal and Ramsey at left back and we went on to record another 11 straight wins we would all be saying he is a genius
For now get on board and enjoy the ride whilst it last
It’s not every season we go 11 on the spin
        Onwards and upwards

  4. Arsenal will this afternoon at Selhurst Park in the PL beat Crystal Palace 0-5 at fulltime of the match. Under no any excuses should the Gunners of Arsenal fail to wallop the Eagles of Crystal Palace by 0-5 away win today. For the Gunners not to beat the Eagles 0-5 today but by less goals scored margin beating will be unacceptable to the Gooners who want to see Arsenal start building up massive goal difference in the table in their quest to win the PL title this season against all football pundits prediction.

Aaron Ramsey is entitled to know the reason for the withdrawal of his contract extention by the club which he was reportedly about to sign before it was summarily withdrawn by the club. So, let the club’s hierarchy tell him why they withdrew his contract extention deal offer which has unsettled him emotionally ever since it was withdrawn. And yet Unai Emery expects Ramsey to put in top performances regularly for Arsenal in games. But does the heart have bone in it to withstand unexpected shock? Well, I don’t know as I am not a biologist.

  5. I’m not going to predict a score as I’m usually wrong… I just think Palace can’t carry on playing crap football, especially at home in front of their own fans! Will they score their first home goal of the season today? Possibly yes. I just hope we play well & win, even if it is by an odd goal. I still can’t shake the feeling that I had last season about our away games… I just hope we’re not too over confident as we have lost 3-0 there before,
Come on Arsenal make us proud again… then I can turn over & watch Gerwyn Price playing darts ? happy days hopefully ?

  6. Leno to start and a narrow win, 1 nil or 2-1 to the Arse.
All this talk of 3, 4 or 5 nil is not only niaive but arrogant.
I hope I’m proved wrong but think some people need to reign it in a bit.

  7. No game in the EPL is easy, particularly away from home. If Arsenal don’t turn up to play, they won’t get the result. Unai Emery will not tolerate over confidence.

  8. Leno retain his spot…cech will be used midweek for match fitness… Bellerin… Mustafi…Socratis…Xaka
    Geundozi Torriera
    Micki….ozil….iwobi
    Laca

  9. Missed the midweek Europa game against Sporting Lisbon. Just caught up this morning and watched the full match replay.. I am not a big Ozil fan but Ramsey has no business playing in that N.10 position. He is absolutely clueless and unintelligent in that position. He looked like a lost puppy in the Sporting Lisbon game..

I still don’t rate Xhaka whatsoever in our midfield, he does absolutely nothing in there, any average midfielder outside of the Top 6 teams can do as much as Xhaka is doing.. I still want to see Guendouzi in there. He is risky but he is more buzzing in there compared to one dimensional Xhaka. Douzi and Torreira in there with a more energetic Ozil completing the midfield 3 for now..

I want to see Sokratis paired with HOLDING AGAIN, Mustafi has had his chance and still play like a 19 year old rookie defender.

Keep Leno in there and make Cech fight for his place once again.

I have always had a soft spot for Mkhitaryan but he has been such a disappointment. Has not earned his place in the team in my opinion.. Bench him and keep Iwobi on the Right wing.
