Dani Ceballos has to do just one thing to satisfy Spain manager

Spain manager Robert Moreno has been speaking to the press covering all manner of topics including what he wants for Dani Ceballos at Arsenal.

Moreno spoke about his sadness at the death of his predecessor Luis Enrique’s nine-year-old daughter, Xana, who passed away last week after losing her battle against cancer, and confirming he would stand aside if Enrique returns to his position as national team manager.

Moreno discussed other players and their prospects and so on before he moved onto Ceballos and he made it clear that he would not be discussing the players move away from Real Madrid on loan and what he wants from the 23-year-old at the Emirates.

“I am not going to get into Madrid’s decisions because [coach Zinedine] Zidane is the one that makes the choices there [at Real Madrid],” Moreno said via ESPN. “I want him to play many minutes with Arsenal.”

Ceballos has been included in the Spain squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Romania and the Faroe Islands and has obviously done enough to impress Moreno but if there is one thing that could cost him his international place it will be lack of game time.

If the midfielder continues to play as he has done then that should not be too much of an issue but a lot will also depend on how Unai Emery deploys him, if he plays him out of position as he did against Liverpool then that will not help his international prospects too much and can be just as damaging as lack of playing time.

  1. The young man has talent, it falls to our coach to maximize that for the team’s benefit, which benefits the player as well.

He will do well as a 10 or B2B if Emery pairs him up with a proper midfield partner.

  2. OT.. Thierry will be playing in Kompany’s testimonial next Wednesday.. looks good – City legends v Premier league All Stars – well until i came across RVP’s name.. urgh…

  3. This act of stubbornly playing players out of their adapted preferred position on the field of play by head coach Emery has got to stop. For, as it is seen it has cost Arsenal 2nd position in the table fm which they can be challenging for the PL title win if they had beaten Liverpool at away and Tottenham Hotspur at the Ems all in the Premier League matches but for Emery fumbled Arsenal can only collect a point from the 6 points on offer which left us Gooners be reeling in pains after being forced by Emery to swallow the bitter pill of mediocrity. Us Gooners are beginning to wonder if Ivan Gasidiz the former Arsenal CEO has not cynically planted Emery as Arsenal head coach knowing fully well that he has limitation in coaching capacity to even get a top-four place finish for Arsenal talk less of to win the PL title for Arsenal before he ran away to AC Milan.

  4. Luis Enrique, a man who could have potentially been our manager.

Can’t even begin to imagine what he, and his family are going through right now.

    Rest peacefully Xana.

  5. He’ll probably only be with us this season especially if we don’t make Champions League

    I hope I’m wrong
