Debuchy and Ospina news a BIG boost for Arsenal

The good news is just piling up for Arsenal at the minute, and it is about bleeding time as well. Two wins in a row sees us into the next stage of the Champions League and still with a slight chance of topping the group, while Chelsea look like they could start to wobble at the top of the Premier League.

The most important thing for Arsenal, however, is to keep our own house in order and that looks a lot more likely this week with the news that the injury crisis is easing off. Nacho Monreal trained with the group yesterday so we should have a strong back four of players in the right positions to face Southampton.

And that back line will soon be at full strength, after Arsene Wenger revealed that our French international right back Mathieu Debuchy, only signed from Newcastle in the summer, could be in the team again as soon as next week. The manager revealed that the defender was already back in training, so maybe we will see him back in the starting line-up against Galatasaray next week.

That allows Calum Chambers to have a break and also to cover for Per Mertesacker so the German can recharge his batteries. And although Wenger was unable to put a date on the return of our first choice keeper, at least the second choice, David Ospina, is set to be back around the same time as Debuchy.

Onwards and upwards Arsenal fans!!

    1. i know perhaps u guys are gonna axe me or chokeslam ***coughs*** me for 4 this ….but i really hope the SPUDS massacres CHELSKI tonight……… Or who wants chelski continuing on their invincible-looking-winning streak?…. I DON’T

      1. Hey, buddy! @Soopa, howdy? Consider me your tag team partner on that, no one’s gonna “slam” or “axe” you. I can’t wait to see Chelsea, even if it is just once. Imagine Chelsea playing unbeaten throughout the season. OMG!!! I can smell what Maureen is cooking and I swear it ain’t nothing good at all!!!

        1. @ kickassfan…..hey bro, howdy?…..been a while, Hope ur wrist’s coming good……. Have a nyc day ahead

  2. Massive massive news.. These injury are the actual cause of our bad run this season.
Things might have been different if Debuchy did not get injured when we were 2-1 up agaist city at home.. That was the turning point.. We need to get through this busy December period grabbing maximum points as possible..January I do believe wenger will definitely buy in defense.

Having said that we have just won only two matches …. Beating Southampton is important for us. Pelligrini said they can not afford to drop points this year having just 6 points behind leader Chelsea…
So we having 13 ponts behinds definitely need to win all matches this year..
    Lets pray

    1. I looks like you are forgetting that we drew so many games against teams like Leicester and Everton with Debuchy. I for one would prefer Chambers to Debuchy, Chambers only played badly on the Swansea game. The only person I was missing was the Boss and Theo!

      1. @Wonder
but with Debuchy back…gives us the chance to use Chambers as DM…esp with Arteta out and flamini in such fckin “brilliant” form…

  3. This southampton squad have been playing the way we SHOULD be playing. Beating sunderland by 8 goals, free-flowing football, solid midfield with 2 CDM’s, organization, squad deth, and a manager who can ADAPT and makes his team fight for everything. This is a big test for us. I want to see this squad finally playing like an Arsenal team. No more of this disorganized, lazy display of meandering around the pitch looking for a needle in a haystack. If we want to win something this season, start by beating southampton tomorrow. coyg.

    1. Man, I luv good football, I really do (you know, stuff like tiki-taka or tiki-haka, eh, yeah). But u see, 3 solid fat points makes my day any day.

You know, before now I used to say Arsenal plays clean and fair game, it’s good and bla, bla, bla. But hear this: I say the lads go out there and do whatever god damned thing they can to get all three points. For f***k’s sake, u guys can go on a diving spree, play dirty, just about anything… Damn it I say! Win is win!

  4. the new medical chief is doing his job all right. KUDOS to him for making players recovery as quick as possible.

  5. i know perhaps u guys are gonna axe me or chokeslam ***coughs*** me for this ….but i really hope the SPUDS massacres CHELSKI tonight……… Or who wants chelski continuing on their invincible-looking-winning streak?…. I DON’T
