EPL cash deal means Arsenal should make transfers NOW

Arsenal fans heard many times that Arsene Wenger is not a big fan of the January transfer window but at the same time it is there so he might as well make use of it. Having signed just one, not very well heard of, player in Mohamed Elneny to strengthen the injury hit central midfield area, it is looking increasingly like the Frenchman will be using the winter window very sparingly once again but I think he could be making a grave mistake.

As reported on the Arsenal website, Wenger today hinted that the Gunners would not be completing any more transfer business this month, unless of course something unexpected comes up.

He said, “Yes, you will certainly have some work to do over the next 10 days, not especially with Arsenal, but with many other clubs.

“We are always open to the exceptional occasion of course because it can be a long-term exceptional opportunity that we would take. But at the moment I expect our last 10 days to be quiet.”

The boss often says that the summer is a much better time to sign players but I think this year could be different. Because the Evening Standard is reporting that all of the Premier League clubs could be heading for a massive transfer splurge due to the new mega money TV deal and the money from it being released early.

Not only will this give Arsenal more and richer rivals for any transfer target, it will make the other clubs around Europe boost their asking prices significantly. Arsenal are in a great position financially right now and could get the jump on this summer of madness.

Why not go all out for a top player or two now? Not only would it help to avoid the summer scramble, it might just help Arsenal to win the Premier League title. Fancy that at all Arsene?
