Four biggest dangers facing Arsenal against Napoli tonight

There is no doubt that Arsenal have been dealt a tough draw in the Europa League quarter-final against Napoli, a team that is the second best outfit in Serie A with a decent sprinkling of top quality players.

Napoli are definitely focussed, they know they cannot win the Italian league, they will qualify for the Champions League next season and so the Europa League represents their best chance of silverware this season.

There are multiple dangers that we will have to face and I have highlighted four such dangers in particular.

Dries Mertens

A top quality player, the Belgium international has scored an impressive 79 goals in 199 appearances for Napoli and has the ability to find a goal out of nothing, he can switch effortlessly from being a striker to a winger and his versatility makes him one to keep a close eye on.

Lorenzo Insigne

The Napoli captain has been passed fit and that is not good news for us, he is very influential, certainly a lot more than our captain has been in recent games, he may not be a prolific goalscorer but he mixes his game up well and is one of the leading players with assists in Serie A.

Jose Callejon

Callejon has the third highest assists in Serie A this season, just behind teammate Mertens and while he is not clinical in front of the goal, if he is given the slightest opportunity he can turn the game suddenly with his eye for a deadly through ball.

Arkadiusz Milik

Napoli’s top scorer in Serie A this season, he has three goals less than Ronaldo and given half a chance he will take it, he needs to be closely guarded or he will punish us, that you can be sure of.

There are other dangers trust me on that and our midfield and defence will have to be alert for the entire 90 minutes but Napoli does have a vulnerable defence, especially in recent weeks and if our forwards do their job it will relieve the pressure on the defence.

  1. Arsenal do not need to be wary of those four attackers if they can control the game

Barcelona’s passes last night are the system Wenger and his staffs envisioned, which is sadly never really take off at Arsenal

Had Arsenal been able to create such mature system, we don’t need to be worried of Napoli and the away games in EPL. Unfortunately 15 years under the same manager have gone wasted with the degradation of youth development system

    1. Note during Arsene’s 21year reign, we won three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, and seven Community Shields. You can say that he stayed a few years too long, but he was still crazy successful and we played great football for a lot of those years.

      1. And will add he also put together the finest team the premiership as ever seen ….
Not because I support arsenal ,that’s just a fact.

  2. We really have a lot to worry about. Considering our defensive errors against Everton, am just too scared if we can make it past Napoli. But nonetheless, if our coach will make the right selection, then we wouldn’t have any problems at the slaughter house of emirates stadium tonight
