Full Arsenal injury update ahead of trip to Wolves

The current injury/suspension update from Arsenal football club is almost identical to as it was before the Crystal Palace game with one exception, there is no suspended Sokratis.

Granit Xhaka, as seems to be a regular occurrence recently will be assessed ahead of the Wolves game due to concerns over his hip.

Aaron Ramsey is definitely out of the Wolves tie due to his left hamstring injury, however, there is good reason for some optimism and he is receiving ongoing treatment and may yet return before the end of the season.

Denis Suarez continues to be sidelined with his persistent groin strain and will not be playing any part Wednesday night.

In terms of the long term injured not much has changed since the last update.

Hector Bellerin continues with his rehabilitation with both gym work and ongoing post-surgery strengthening.

Rob Holding is a little ahead of Bellerin and is progressing through the end stages of gym rehabilitation.

Danny Welbeck has now moved onto on-field rehabilitation, conditioning and ball work.

So basically it is as we were about a week ago with only Xhaka having any chance of appearing for us against Wolves.

All things considered, we are in a good position at the stage of the season and Unai Emery has a fairly strong and fit squad to choose from.

  1. Sokratis will be key to this game and I hope I Torriera steps up too as Wolves play on the break and they are very good at it.

  2. I just hope Unai Emery goes for the 4-2-3-1 from the start instead of waiting for us to go behind. He should start Torreira and if possibble Xhaka as the CM paing since Guendouzi and Elneny haven’t impressed.I’d have loved for Osei Tutu to be given his chance as he’s definitely worth the gamble and Maitland-Niles be given his chance at CM.However, that wont happen. The attack should consist of Iwobi,Ozil,Aubameyang and Lacazette.Iwobi is average and will do many wrong things but as proven in most matches he starts he will at least provide one important through ball or pass that creates a clear cut chance for someone. He’s the only clear winger we’ve got too and combines best with Kolasinac so he should start.Ozil has not been that good too but he should start because we have noone. We should just play all our best relative to our team.

    1. We need to stop playing a formation that focuses mainly on Kolasinac and AMN as the providers of width.Wolves set up defensively well against top teams and they would be happy to play us should we once again employ such a tactic. We should play Koscielny and Sokratis as the CB”s and bench Monreal and Mustafi who is always a mistake waiting to happen.

  3. A win would be a huge huge result as you must consider the results (or lack of results) other top 5 teams have got there.

I mentioned needing 5pts from Everton, Watford and Wolves. But with the lost to CP we must consider needing to claw back 3pts so 6pts from the above 3 games would make the deficit -2pts for us. Considering Chelsea drew against Burnley, United lost to Everton…6pts from the 3 away games is good going.

I repeat, a win will be huge but I am just hoping not to loss as bare minimum.

  4. Emery should be shot for the team he put out against Palace. The biggest mistake of the season. I hope he wakes up against Wolves as we will have to win. I am somewhat shocked by his team selection.
