How many changes will Arsenal make for Burnley game?

We all know that Arsenal are desperate to get back to winning ways in the League against Southampton next Tuesday after having three winless games in a row, but first of all we have an equally important Fa Cup match to negotiate first against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Wengwr always makes some changes for Cup games, but ultimately we are aiming for an historic treble in the competition, a feat that hasn’t been achieved for well over a century, so we must also make sure we make no mistake in this game either.

The injury returnees like Sanchez, Coquelin and Rosicky and the arrival of Elneny will give Wenger a few extra options, but he needs to balance their fitness against the need to win urgently. There is no way he can risk starting the game with all four, could he? Mind you Rosicky wasn’t in yesterday’s training session although he did play in midweek with the reserves…

David Ospina will definitely be in goal, and I guess Mertesacker will play as he will be banned from the Southampton match. Giroud will probably start after only playing 20 minutes against Chelsea. Alex Iwobi performed well in the last round against Sunderland so I fancy him to play again, but who else could be picked?

The only other youngster that trained with the squad was, of course, Jeff Riene-Adelaide, who I thought would be in front of Iwobi in the pecking order, but Wenger obviously thinks differently. Maybe he will hink he’s good enough to face Burnley?

Who do you think we can afford to rest for Tuesday’s crucial match?

  1. Ospina
    Bellarin Chambers Gabriel Gibbs
    Elneny Ox
    Joel Ozil Sanchez
    OG
Subs: Cech, Iwobi, Rene, Monreal, Theo, Arteta, TR7

    – Play Ozil 60 minutes because he needs to get his mojo back.
    – Sanchez needs about 45minutes as well on the road to recovery
    – OG must be pisssed on subbing him, let him take it out on our opponents and show Wenger his the best ST weve got at the moment.

  2. Ospina, Gabriel, Chambers, Gibbs and Elneny are more or less confirmed for this game already.

Hoping to see Iwobi and Jeff get considerable game time aswell.

  3. ———————————————Ospina
    ————————–Chambers— Mert—–Gabs—–Gibbs
    ——————————————Elneny—Ox
    —————————Adelaide——–Iwoby————Alexis
    ————————————————OG

Subs: Cech, Bellerin, Koss, Monreal, TR7, Flams, Walcott.

  4. Mert can’t play cos d ban cuts across all English competitions. All I want to c is Elneny play. Already fed up with Flamini. Le Coq on d bench too den Rosicky at a point as a substitute

  5. ……………….Ospina
    Bellerin..Calum..Gabriel..Gibbs
    …………….Coq..Elneny
    Campbell……Ozil………Oxlade
    …………….. Giroud

    Bench – Cech/Koscielny/Monreal/Ramsey/Adelaide/Iwobi/Walcott

    1. wenger is using 4-3-3 formation to get the maximum out of oxlade by putting him in the middle.
And rosicky, sanchez, ozil come as subs to get some match fitness..

  6. Playing 4-3-3:

    ……………….Ospina
    Calum..Gabriel..Kos..Gibbs
    ……………..Arteta
    ………….Ox..Elneny
    Campbell…Giroud…Iwobi

  7. Rumour has it that Wenger will experiment with Elneny and Chambers in the DM positions.
Flamini and Ramsey will be rested.
Danny Setbeck missing from training ?
Coquelin will be on the subs bench.

Ospina , Gabriel, Gibbs, Elneny, Chambers and Iwobi are all expected to start..
Its more than likely that Wenger hasn’t even decided on the rest Yet!!

  8. I’d say:

    —————— Ospina
    Bellerin – Chambers – Gabriel – Gibbs
    ————- Elneny – Flamini
    ——-OX – Özil – Iwobi
    ————– Walcott

Sub Özil, Walcott off we are in comfortable lead. Bring on the likes of Rosicky and Sanchez for some minutes!
