How U21s could be FANTASTIC for Arsenal stars

I am including the Arsenal right back Carl Jenkinson in this as well as Calum Chambers and Serge Gnabry, even though it looks like Jenks will be spending another season on loan away from the Emirates stadium. After a good season with West Ham, a good summer tournament with England could really help him to keep progressing and to convince Arsene Wenger to bring him back into the Arsenal fold.

But I was thinking more about Chambers and Gnabry, who will be hoping to feature heavily for England and Germany respectively. The dynamic winger/forward did not manage a single minute of action for the first team last season due to a long injury lay-off but he did come back to play for the reserves, scoring three goals from his eight games.

A lot of fans seem to have forgotten the young German but he was forging a good name for himself before that injury and will be keen to remind us all of his talent in the Euro championships this summer. Gnabry will have just turned 20-years old when the new season begins and with the confidence of some good games for Germany behind him, I reckon he could really shine for us.

The situation with Chambers is a bit different because he did feature quite a lot for Arsenal in his debut season, with 28 starts and eight sub appearances in all competitions. But he must be disappointed with his lack of game time in the latter stages and it looks like he will find it just as hard to get into the team ahead of Debuchy and Bellerin next time.

That is why this Under 21 competition could be great for him, as it looks like Gareth Southgate will use him in central defence and that seems to be Wenger´s long term plan as well. If Chambers impresses in that role for England then he will be much more likely to be trusted to do the same for Arsenal.

So let us wish the three young Gunners all the best and hope to see them all shining in the red and white again soon…

  1. This season we need our top players in their top form if they continue it from aug to may we will be the BPL champions #COYG
I hope that British players will show their best this season.

    1. Our british core truly needs to step up now, they must get past their injury problems,OX,Theo,Ramsey and Wilshere will be vital towards a title push!

      1. We have many young homegrown talent, look at Theo,ox,jenks, chambers, even jack these are all key players and we need them to be as fit all the time, jenks loan deal would work out fine for him and he will return next year even stronger and challenge for a starting spot. But I hope players like the ox/jack and Theo come good this season. They are all vital players for us.

  2. Chambers will have to learn CB and DM as well. That will make him one of the most versatile defending player at the Emirates. I am sure Wenger will give him opportunities to learn just that.
Not sure about Jenkinson. I was watching almost all WHU games last season and I can’t tell yet if he improved since he left Arsenal. But you know how it is, first loan spell is always a struggle to adapt, to impress, to win etc. All that stuff. Don’t understand the hype about Gnabry. To me, Gnabry still has a long, long way to replace Ox/Walcott/Alexis successfully when needed. We’ll have to be patient I guess. As usual, Wenger has the last word.

  3. Guys I’m a Arsenal fan from my heart, to be honest with u all. Next season will not be Arsenals . We will finish 4th next season, I do feel like a knife going inside me while I write this comment. We will have a very good chance in the 16/17 season if wenger stays. You think about it our team is just building up with confidence plus we are going to add few new players . So it will take few seasons to get the confidence.

    1. I love how all the negative people on this site have names like “honest gunner”, “real gunner”, “the truth”, etc.

I didn’t see anything special from Man City (they look like they have no desire) and we matched Chelsea the second our injuries were the same. Man Utd spent and spent but looked poor most of the season and they will lose De Gea. Liverpool/Tottenham/Southampton are all below us.

but sure, we will regress next season despite looking better than ever.

  4. I think to win title we needs many things.

I think if we scores goal extra in games we draw last season then we can win thoose games. Then in game we loose we must score more goals then the other teem.

I think if we can do these simple thing then we can win the MLS back frrom Chealsea

  5. I think it could be more fantastic if we poach a few gems. Our under 21s dont seem to be performing all that well during the season. With the noise we do make about some of our kids you would think we would be right up there with chelseas youngsters.

    1. totally agree city, man u. chelsea have some huge talents coming through and we should follow suit.

      the midfield?
lou reed 17y cm for sheff u regular at englandu19

      the defense?
joe gomez 18y englands best teen cb plays for charlton
alex grimaldo 19y barcelona and spains best teen left back

      the gk
dragowski, 17y polish gk plays for jagiellonia. in the top 3 teen gk

  6. So Off topic
still no transfer news of any note then??
No Strikers being like?? no keeps signed??? no defensive midfielders being approached ?? No? nothing??
Ahhh well back to the work I have to do then until tmorrow lol

    1. Apart from the transfer window still being closed, are u walking around with a bag over your head. We are being linked with hundreds of players, strikers alone I can think of Jackson, benzema, higuain, ibrahimovic, tevez just of the top of my head.

Have to say if we ended with cech kondogbia and benzema, I would be getting really excited. Not sure where that would leave players like ospina, Szczesney, martinez, flamini, arteta, Ramsey, wilshire, chamberlain, rosicky, giroud, sanogo and welbeck.

Have to say Chelseas offer of £10m plus cech for the ox is mighty tempting, for a player that is so injury prone. If that rises to £15m I can see wenger taking it.

  7. OT. Can anyone please tell me what is the criteria for playing first and last game at home in PL? Arsenal, manu and Chelsea have their 1st and last game at home. Last season we had same. What is the basis of this?
