How will Arsenal line-up at Crystal Palace tomorrow? Who has been rested?

Arsenal are set to play their third game in six days tomorrow at Selhurst Park, and it will take some brilliant man management if we can keep our amazing winning run going with tiredness starting to take it’s toll. Emery has rotated well (or tinkered if you prefer) but has kept us very competitive, but how will he line up against Palace and keep his side fresh.

It will be interesting to see if Petr Cech returns to the starting line-up now he is back to fitness, but we all know the majority of Arsenal fans want Leno to continue as Number One. In defence, Holding and Lichtsteiner have played the whole 90 minutes of both games this week, so Sokratis and Mustafi will probably play tomorrow as they have only played once each, while Bellerin was on the bench at Sporting. We are still hoping Monreal and Kolasinac will pass fitness tests today so will be fresh too….

Emery has been very careful with Torreira and hasn’t overplayed him so I expect to see him tomorrow alongside the young Guendouzi who was brilliant on Thursday. Also Xhaka played the full 180 minutes so Ramsey should be fresher at the moment. Up front Ozil, Iwobi and Lacazette were rested on Thursday and should be certain to start.

So here is my anticipated line-up to face Palace….

Cech
Bellerin Sokratis Mustafi Monreal
Guendouzi Torreira Ramsey
Iwobi, Lacazette, Ozil

  1. Unlike Wenger that usually used 4-2-3-1 (or 3-4-2-1 for a while), Emery is unpredictable. Sometimes he used 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 at an away match, but I predict it would be 4-2-3-1, because he did not play Ozil and Mkhitaryan in Lisbon:

    …………………….Leno
    Bellerin . Mustafi . Sokratis . Monreal
    …………Torreira ……. Xhaka
    Mkhitaryan ………Ozil ………..Iwobi
    ………………….Lacazette

    1. I don’t want to see Micky in that team,, he disappear in matches. Just put auba there .

      4-3-1-2
      Leno

HB – Mustafi – Holding- Montreal

      Iwobi- LT – Xhaka
      Ozil

      Auba – Lacazate

  2. Drop our most in-form player in Leno? Why exactly?

gotanidea’s lineup is what Emery’s likely to pick.

    1. Cech is our number 1 and was doing well before injury
You can’t just drop someone that quickly. It affects morale of the keeper. Also Leno needs more time to unseat Cech or until Cech isn’t good enough. Whichever comes first.
Also will give Leno rest for Europe and FA/League cup matches.

      1. Hasn’t Leno played very well also? Why drop Leno so quickly?

I would argue that Cech needs to be better playing out from the back before even thinking of replacing Leno.

What message does it send Leno and the team when despite great form, great playing from the back, Cech gets the start?

Sorry but Cech has to wait his turn or show in training he’s on better form than Leno. I’m Leno all the way until his form dips. He’s been better than Cech in my opinion, so why bench him?

        1. Sorry Innit but I totally agree with Durand.. Leno has been brilliant & he’s so calm under pressure.. he deserves to keep his place

    1. Actually most of the current players are synonymous with Wenger, because there are just few new players

      1. Auba isn’t because Sven and Ivan brought him in, Laca hasn’t been there long enough, Lichtsteiner, Leno, Guendouzi, Torreria new to squad. Mhki wanted by Sven not Wenger. Sokratis new also, that makes 8, so thats around half of starting 11 and subs bench.

Next Summer likely much less Wenger players with hopefully Ramsey gone, Mustafi benched, Leno starting, and new winger purchases.

      2. Bellerin is probably the most synonymous one, out of all of the players, totally a Wenger type/way of doing things. Holding too. Monreal was an unknown, relatively speaking, and he’s been with us a while. Wenger wanted Lacazette but it took years before we finally paid the asking price. Cech was not really a Wenger type, against the grain if you will. Seems more a case of someone, maybe, talking him into it. I believe that he wanted to stick by Szcz. Allot of our academy players would be synonymous, with Wenger, mold, he’d have one eye on them, before sticking anymore players (or too many) ahead of them. Iwobi, of course, and he (Wenger) would have been involved with Nelson, Rowe, and the likes, their routines/drills and what not, he would be sharing keen advice/instructions on, a somewhat, regular basis.

  3. lol, are not going to use the likes of ramsey and cech now after its proven that we have better options.

    1. Hope u r right …,Ramsey proved his worth Thursday and is now in an existential crisis wondering why he’s not worth a quarter million a week!!!

  4. Leno starts till Cech proves his fitness.
    ….
    …………. Leno
    Bellerin,Sokratis,Holding,Monreal
    ………….Torreira.Xhaka
    Iwobi……………………………Ozil
    ……..Lacazette.Aubameyang.
