What is Arsenal’s best XI? by Sam P
There is not much longer for the Arsenal fans to wait, and how glad are we all about that? In less than two weeks, the Gunners will run out for the first game of pre-season against a Singapore select XI in their national stadium, so I expect that the players that have not been given extended summer breaks will be back in training next week.
Apart from Alexis Sanchez, Arsene Wenger will have pretty much his whole first team squad to choose from, with the recent crippling injury problems (whisper it) seemingly over. So it will be very interesting to see how Le Prof lines the team up.
Of course we expect to see some of the fringe players and the young players like Zelalem and Akpom given a chance to impress and make a case for the first team squad, but the pre-season games, especially the Emirates cup, gives the boss a great opportunity to get his best XI out on the pitch before the serious stuff starts.
Obviously we cannot plan for any new signings, but with what we have, and leaving Alexis out for now, how do you see that best XI looking like to play in the Charity Shield against Chelsea? Will Wenger stick with Cazorla in the box to box role or will Ramsey resume his role in the centre? Will Theo Walcott be an automatic starter and if so, on the right or in the middle? Will Debuchy retake the right back spot from Bellerin? Will Ozil be our top number 10?
I cannot wait to find out and I am sure that the boss will have a few surprises for us as usual. How would you line Arsenal up against Chelsea, keeping in mind that Alexis will not be there?

If chelsea sign arda turan, we must go for griezmann
he was a great winger for sociadad and a great striker for atletico, hes french too
No chance for Griezmann dude. Arda Turan is attacking midfielder and we’ve plenty high rated class of them. What’s your point? We should buy only what we need, a DM and maybe another DLP and one striker.

There’s a week between the two fixtures and no CL play-offs this time round.
They hardly need a rest after 3-4 pre-season games!! More about reaching the required fitness levels and sharpness. We’ll probably only have to defend for about 30-40 mins anyway…

Or switch theo and Wilshere if cutting in onto their preferred feet is preferred. That way Jack can help out containing Hazard as well and Theo will have a little more freedom to stay forward.
I thought Wilshere was really good on the wing late last season. Showed he could be direct and always looking to get things happening. Plenty of firepower off the bench with Ramsey, Welbz and Ox as well.
But for me, Cazorla offers more than Ramsey in the centre CURRENTLY. We saw the dynamic between Sanchez, Cazorla and Ozil grow from strength to strength last season. Personally, I think the two playmakers will be in for their best season yet, and the quality and quantity of the runs Theo was making end of season will only help that. He looked hungry
Why start wilshere over Ramsey?
With the current squad…I will go with the 4-2-3-1 formation…with no alexis sanchez..I will start walcott,we will need his speed if we wanna win this game and since we are short of left foot wingers…I will play santi carzola in that position…so we look more like this…

Ozil should start on the bench simply because caz and ramsey offer a bit more defensively, and chelsea’s back line is very deep, so there is no real space for ozil to play the through ball.
PS: Sanchez not plating the game is a good thing. Remember his last game against chelsea.. he was the best player on the pitch for chelshit..
I prefer to wait for the Boss to complete his summer transfer business to know those he will finally signed before I can attempt naming a Gunners’ team to face Chelsea at Wembley. Right? We all know that the Blues are going to be a tough nuts to crack for the Gunners before they can re- lift the Community Shield. But the Gunners aren’t having any other option on that evening other than the option of cracking the Blues to retain the Shield. I’m waiting for the Boss to answer my call to sign 2 top quality LB&RW.
LB and RW?!!!!!

Chelsea is a strong side so I wud prefer my lineup dis way

I’d pick welbedk and ox as wingers because they are hardworking and still have pace to cover defensively and attack. I think walcott would give terry and cahill more problems than giroud would because of his pace and movement. Giroud and ramsey and wilshere to come on from the bench as required.
