“I still have a contract” Arsenal target tired of reports linking him with a move to the Emirates

Reports have linked Andre Onana with a move to Arsenal for most of the last year.

The Cameroonian was banned from football for much of this season and has only just returned to action with Ajax.

While he was away, a lot of reports linked him with a move to Arsenal as he nears the end of his current deal.

He can sign a pre-contract agreement with the Gunners or another club in the January transfer window if he doesn’t extend his Ajax deal.

It remains unclear if he would be on the books of the Dutch club next summer, but he doesn’t enjoy the reports linking him to Arsenal and other clubs.

The former Barcelona man wants to be respectful to his present club and insists he is still on the books of Ajax.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, via FC Update, he says:

“I’ve wanted to talk about this for some time. (Recently) there was an article about me every day. It was Arsenal, then it was Lyon.

“I’m there tired of it. The media thinks it should inform me about my own life. I still have a contract with Ajax.”

Just Arsenal Opinion

Having signed Aaron Ramsdale in the last transfer window, Arsenal certainly isn’t looking to sign Onana again.

The goalie would be a solid backup to Ramsdale at the Emirates, but he is simply too good for that role.
