Is Mesut Ozil the Arsenal Player to follow at Euro16?

There are many many Arsenal players going to be on show in France during the Euros, so we will have quite a bit of interest in most of the games. I am especially looking forward to watching Switzerland’s games so I can see Granit Xhaka in action. As an extra bit of interest did you know he could be lining up against his brother, who is in the Albania squad, in their opening game?

Obviously us Brits will be following Jack Wilshere’s progress and to make sure he doesn’t get injured again. And then we have Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny playing for the favourites France. Petr Cech in goal for the Czech Republic, and Wojciech Szczesny on the bench for Poland. It will also be fascinating to see if Aaron Ramsey and his sidekick Gareth Bale can carry Wales through to the knockout stages.

That makes five of our six players going to France, whereas we had double that number competing at the 2012 Euros. It is good that most of our players will be rested but does it show that the quality of the Arsenal side has gone down? Anyway the player I’m looking forward to seeing in action the most is our Player-of-the-Season Mesut Ozil, to see if he gets back into the assist game with some proper strikers ahead of him. Germany starts in one of the easiest Groups with only Poland, Ukraine and Northern Ireland to contend with so Ozil and Muller could rack up some good numbers straight from the kickoff.

So I’ve just been checking Thatsagoals Euro 2016 preview and with Germany the current holders of the World Cup they can see no reason not to think they can follow that victory up in France. They are around 4/1 second Favourites to win the whole tournament, but the bets I like are the 15/8 on offer for winning all three Group games, and the 25/1 I can get for Ozil to end up as player of the tournament. That seems like excellent odds to me!

  1. I’ll follow all Arsenal players playing at the Euros…

I have followed Ozil since his Schalke 04 days, then Werder bremen before going to Real Madrid. I remember when Germany play England (can’t remember the tournament, I think in 2010 WorldCup). Ozil was so instrumental in that game then against Argentina, he was great too…

As a big Ozil fan, I’ll follow Xhaka closely simply because we just got Him and most Arsenal fans haven’t really seen Him play…

I saw a bit of Him @ Basel but a lot of Him @ Borussia M.

Can’t wait for the Euros’ then of course the new season.

    1. Haha the window isn’t even officially open yet mate!!
If you mean just post articles reposting the 1000’s and 1000’s of clickbait rumors… I’d prefer not to read all them. If you want some solid news we’ve supposedly signed on Maximilliano Romero. He’ll remain at his current club for 2 seasons before joining us. 4.5mil
