It Mass be! Allegri to replace Wenger at Arsenal?

There will no doubt be a lot of names put forward for the soon to be vacant job of manager at Arsenal Football Club, always assuming that Arsene Wenger does what most people now expect and calls time on his 20 year career in charge of the Gunners.

Some fans are hoping for a complete change of tack from the club, bringing in a completely different type of character to the Frenchman. That would be someone like the Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, whose tactics and style of coaching is just about as different as you can get.

I very much doubt this will happen, though, especially if Wenger is going to have some input into the decision on who will take over from him. I expect us to try to keep some continuity and with the players we have in our squad I think that is the right way to go.

A change is needed but not a complete upheaval and overhaul of everything the boss has built in his 20 years. I would personally like to see the job go to a fresh and exciting new manager like Eddie Howe but I do not think it will. For me the clear favourite is the man currently steering Juventus to yet another Serie A title in Italy.

And it seems to be that Massimiliano Allegri is going to take the job offer, even though Metro is reporting that the Italian is playing down the rumours and joking with the press about them.

Allegri said, ‘How’s my English?

‘I started learning before Milan, now I’ve left it. They say I’ll go to Arsenal? You all say that, I just listen…’

Hardly a firm denial from the Juve boss there was it? Do you think that Allegri is the right man for the job?
